I would just like to take the time out to say that my surgery has been the best thing to EVER happen to me in my whole life. It was a decison that (I) and noone else had to make. People will try to discourage you about getting this surgery. Some may be generally looking out for your best interest while others may just plain and simple don't understand how it feels to live in a (292 pound) body. I looked at it like this, if I get the surgery it will be a risk of course. I will have to take pills for the rest of my life and yes there's a risk of death. On the other hand, if I don't get the surgery I may develop a health problem and still have to take pills for the rest of my life and there's even a higher risk for death. People would say comments like "you're taking the easy way out." NO! Taking the easy way out is fooling myself, starting a new diet every Monday, and enrolling in fitness gym that I don't even have the energy to go to because of my weight. To top it all off, I'm still gaining about 5 pounds every 2 months. There's nothing easy about this surgery. It takes someone with a strong Will and COURAGE to do this!

I was weighing 292 pounds (size 24). I got the Bypass Surgery on October 1, 2003. Now  5  year later I weigh 130 pounds (size 3). I feel Damm Good about myself and I'm proud of myself as well as my wonderful doctor, Dr. William Roe! I still enjoy the same foods as I did before, I just eat smaller portions. Also I've joined Planet Fitness gym which is wonderful and affordable.  Did I metioned that I just finished my first LP titled "True Confessions." It's a hot R&B/HipHop CD. Please show me some love and support if you can and get a copy at www.cdbaby.com/cd/keishastarr. This is a dream come true for me and your contribution would be greatly appreciated! Also you can see more photos of me at www.myspace.com/keishastarr. Please show a sister some love!!!

Seriously, if you are in the same boat as I was, that is feeling like you're trapped in the wrong body, then take the time out and RESEARCH this procedure to see if it's somthing you can handle. If you do decide to do this surgery and you need a friend, feel free to contact me keronia@aol.com.  Again, I can ALWAYS be reached at www.myspace.com/keishastarr

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!
