Two months (and a couple of days)

Well, so far so good! I'm losing slower then I would have liked, but I'm certainly not displeased with my weight loss so far! 49 pounds and counting since the start of this new journey!!! Yay me! Its the most weight I've ever lost and I'm very proud of what I've been able to accomplish with the help of my sleeve. I know that I could lose faster if I was making a point of keeping my carbs low, but since I can't stand water or crystal lite, Gatorade G2 is my bestest friend in the whole wide world. Its not crazy with carbs but several bottles latter and it adds up. I also prefer protein bars to the shakes, something about the sweeteners in all the different drinks really offends my stomach now.
I have never been a good dieter, calorie counter or food watcher and that has not changed. I try to get in my protein first and foremost, but I don't runaway from the foods I loved. I'm happy with one chip (only salt n'vinegar will do) and I don't freak out over a sip of pop (soda for you Americans out there). What I find so totally cool about having a sleeve is that one chip and a sip are all I need to be satisfied and happy! I also love that the food I crave are foods with flavor! I used to be Miss Bland, but bland just doesn't cut it anymore! Chicken is not a favorite, but I eat it. I love steak so long as its nice and tender, its my stomachs favorite food too...this surprised me, but it was a pleasant surprise. Hamburger is public enemy number 1 and I have no idea why, its ground up and easy to chew and I only use extra lean, but still it is what it is.
I miss eating big portions, but I don't miss being depressed about my inability to lose weight. I love that I need a whole new wardrobe. I love that I can drive my DH PT Cruiser convertible and not be choked by the seat belt! I love that I am becoming a healthy mother for my children and they love it too!
I LOVE MY NEW LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just came from seeing my family doctor and he is on board with me having the VSG!!!!!!
I'm so happy right now, he didn't try to talk me out of it, he just offered a referral to a weightloss doctor here in Calgary (non-surgical) and when I turned him down he didn't push! WOW!
Tomorrow I'm off for all my blood work to make sure I'm completely heathly and then I'm booking my VSG with Dr Alvarez for the second week of July!
New life here I come!!!
