Last Hoop?????

Had my final hoop to jump through today. I had my psych eval. and all went well. Dr Streeter was very nice and our conversation was nice and easygoing. It was obvious he knew what he was doing. At the end of our 37 minute session, he told me he would give a thumbs up to Dr Anthone and send those reports off asap. Now all this information will be submitted to the insurance company and hopefully a date set up. I need that date!! I have needed it for 42 years. Please don't let me get denied. Please Please Please.......

Wow-I just got done reading a very distant friends facebook that stated that her young son was now in remission again but that a dear friend of theirs had gotten their cancer back. So she was putting out a plea for people to please sign up to just be tested for bone marrow. Not even just for this person but for anyone. Someone wrote on there that you could just sign uponline , they would send you a kit and you would swab your own cheek 4 times and send it back in. I thought "There, that is something I can do to help anyone."
So I filled out their LONG questionnaire form....question after question..and answered no to EVERYTHING. No diabetes, no heart condition, no asthma no high blood pressure. However you had to put your height and weight. I put mine in honestly (471 and 5'8" and it let me fill out the whole thing and at the end it came up with "I'm sorry, your body mass index is too high to be a donor"
WOW....I'm too fat to donate my bone marrow. Wow. I have just one more hoop to jump through on June 7th for the physch eval, then fingers crossed, a surgery date shortly after that.

Finally done with all my 6 month pcp office visits and met with Dr Anthone. He was just like everyone said. Very nice and very down to earth and I really felt he got how much this weight was a burden to me. He had me a list of tests that have to be done and I have to lose 10 pounds before surgery. We agreed on the Atkins diet since I had had success in the past on that diet.
I am so self conscious about going to the doctors that I felt there was no way I could get all those test done. However I am proud to say they are all done with the exception of the last one with is the psychiatric evaluation and that is scheduled for June 7th 2011. Hopefully after that I will get a surgery date. Happy and nervous all wrapped up in one. I love looking at the before and after pictures on this website. I will be so happy to actually let someone take a picture of me instead of freaking out on someone when I think they are trying to take a picture.
