My name is Kim. I imagine like most of us, I have struggled with my weight most of my life. I am a 30 year old mother of 2. I have a 12 year old daughter and a 4 year old son. I am engaged to a wonderful man named Junior who is my world. I work in an area hospital in downtown center city Philadelphia.
I was born here in Philly and was raised in several different states. I came back to Philly at the age of 10 and sent the last 15 out of 20 years here.
I have decided to get gastric bypass to make my life better. It has been a struggle mentally, physically and emotionally for a long time. I want to be able to walk my dogs, play with kids, and enjoy being a woman. Like I have said I have a wonderful fiance who needs his partner back.
The support I have received from my family is hesitent at best. They are just concerned about this, as I would be as well. This time around I have put my foot down and was not easily swayed by their emotions. I was attempting to start the process of wls in 2003, but was talked out of it. i was not ready. I am glad that I did. I know now the severity of getting my life on track.
