Walk A Mile In My Shoes

Oct 04, 2007

Walk a mile in my shoes
And then maybe you'll see
What I go through day after day
And what it's like to be me

If you've never delt with a life like mine
What gives you the right
To say "I know just how you feel"
Or tell me how to make things right

Walk a mile in my shoes
And hear what people say
"Did you see the size of that guy"
"I wonder what he weighs"

They don't know how hard I've tried
Or the things that I have done
To fight this battle against the scale
A battle I've never won

Walk a mile in my shoes
And hear the honesty of a kid
When he points a finger and says to his mom
"Look how big his tummy is"

Do you realy think that I enjoy
Living life this way
I can't do a lot of things
You take for granted every day

Walk a mile in my shoes
And please don't judge my size
Know me from the inside
You just might be suprised

Now I don't mean to sound depressed
And your pitty I don't want
But the next time you see a big person
Don't point, laugh or taunt

I am also a child of God
Just like all of you
And if I walked a mile in your shoes
I bet I'd learn something too
