Aug 14, 2010
Well I went in for my final weigh in with my family doctor to see if I had lost the 30 lbs. that the ins. require I lose before my surg. and amazingly I made it! Lost a total of 34lbs, sent the records to my surgon & then the ins and as soon as they hear back from them we can schedule! So Im hoping to be scheduled for the first of September! I thought this day would never come... I cant wait!

Waiting
Jul 02, 2010
Well in the past month I have completed all but one of my pre-op duties. I successfully completed my psych eval., nutrition classes, stress test, personal trainer meetings, and my upper GI. The only one I have not reached was losing the 30lbs the insurance requires me to lose before the surg. I have come a long ways though. In one short month I have managed to lose 17lbs, and now only have 13 to go. So here we go, because once I get over this bump in the road Im ready for surg!

5/19/10 Vanished.... ughhh

So apparently its next to impossible to get ahold of anyone with La Weight loss. Ive been on their website, Ive tried emailing them, and nothing, what the crap. How does a company just fall off the face of the earth like that?
So I called the doctor's office and they told me not to worry about it, they would see what they could do with my 5 year weight history. Which I finally got from my PCP.
I come up with more questions every day...
Who gets the copay?
What should I cut out now?
Liz is probably ready to strangle me.
Im so excited I just want to expidite this whole process.
5/17/10 authorization?????

Well I finally heard back from BCBS, they will only approve the Roux-en-y bypass, and not the sleeve. I guess cheeper and what I want didnt matter in this senerio... lol oh well, now on the fun part.
So now I need to see if I can get 5 years of weight documentation from my PCP, and my LA weight loss records. The best news is that my bank is going to give me a loan for my $2,500 copay, Yay!!! Thank you God for things falling into place...

5/12/10 is my first day to meet my surgen. Im so nervous and full of anxiety. Ive never really talked to anyone about my weight issues before.
My doctor is wonderful, and as soon as we started talking I felt so at ease. I have settled on having the Gastric Sleve done, and now am waiting to hear back from the insurance company to see what I need to do for there part.
I will let you know as soon as I find out anything
Wish me luck
