I wasn't always heavy, as a matter of fact i was always very thin. I was active in school, always exercising. I weighed between 110 and 125. When i was 13-15 I was anorexic and bolemic. The pressures of staying thin to be accepted, etc. When i was 15, the summer after my freshman year i had to have surgery because I had developed a hernia.

It was after the surgery, that I started to gain weight. By the time i was a senior in high school, I weighed about 145 - 150. I went from a size 6-8 to a 14. I got married a month before I graduated High School. From there, it went totally downhill. I got lazier, didn't exercise enough, I started to gain even more weight, Now I am up to a whopping 180. This is when it sunk in, that I really needed to do something.

My friend and I joined the gym, we went everyday, No matter how much I worked out, what I ate, I couldn't lose the weight. It just got worse as the years passed. The older I got the harder it was to lose. I ended up joining a weight loss center. I lost about 60 pounds.... GREAT!! I felt better, but when I stopped that program, I gained it all back, and then some! UGH! talk about disappointment.

I got a divorce 7 years ago, moved to Pennsylvania, and now here I am, at 230. I had thought about this surgery for about 4 yrs. A friend of mine had hers done 2 yrs ago, we were going to go in together, but I decided I would try it again on my own. 2 yrs later, I got heavier, now a wowing 265 pounds. :-O). I finally took the step after realizing that I needed help. My body is not built to be this heavy, I want kids, and at this rate, I will never be able to carry one.

So, now, here I am, 265 pound before surgery. I go in see the dr, do everything that is requested of me. yay! now my surgery is set for January 30th. It has been 2 weeks since my surgery, and I feel great. Oddly enough, i had virtually no pain. I am now 20 pounds lighter, and continually losing. As much as I would like to lose as much as possible. I am ok with a pound or two a day. I want to lose it as healthy as possible, and prevent some of the skin issues as possible. I am living day by day, and looking foward to the day that I will be able to wear that beautiful wedding dress to marry the man I love.
