Had my apt with the psycologist

Hello all... Just wanted to update as to where I was in the process with my journey...
I had my apt with the psycologist On july 2nd. I had an apt sch. for the 29th and then I called the office and they had a cancelation. I was so very excited..
I got my weight taken and I was up four pounds. I knew this of course because I weigh each and every day and have my whole life. This was alittle discouraging but all and all the apt. was great. They just ask you a ton of questions and all they are really trying to find out is are you aware of what your in for all the work that is involved and are you of saine mind. Well I passed of course and wasn't concerned. Now I need to get the required 25 pounds off that my doctor wants me to lose. That then puts me on the schedule for a surgery date. so it is totally up to me to get the weight off .. I want this really bad.. My mind is made up and now I just need to work hard. My goal is to get the 25 pounds off by august 30th pray for me......

Saw surgeon yesterday

Ok.. I had my apt. with the surgeon and I really liked him. First let me say it is hard to listen to them when they are looking at me and saying you know the risk correct?? And do you know that some of the risk are even DEATH??? Hello it freaked me out.. Of course I knew that but to hear it from them and then they make sure you understand that and then make you sign a piece of paper with the statement that you are choicing this elective surgery and understand that death is a risk... Oh My Gosh...
With that said I will die at an early age if I don't have the surgery and feel at this point it isn't elective for me.
He stated I need to do the RNY. that because of the diabetes the lap band will not cure my diabetes as well or fast. So with that said that is the plan
I lost 10 pounds from the orientation and the apt. with the surgeon so he stated yesterday I only have to lose 15 more pounds to have the surgery.
He made an apt. for me to see the physicologist which is on July 29. I was disapointed it was so far away because if I get to my goal weight before then I can't proceed forward to a case manager until I have the physic apt.. Oh well maybe a cancelation will come up in the mean time... we shall see.

Like I said in my story I am very new to all this process. I went to the orientation 5 hour meeting and my next apt. is to see the surgeon that was assigned to me that day. I have Kaiser insurance and the closest place that does the surgery is aabout 1 1/2 hours from my home. It is worth the drive but I would actually like to get more involved with the group meeting in all but hard to drive down there several times a month for that.
I am really looking forward to the meeting on June 6th. I am nervous but excited. I do have some health issues and want to discuss these with him. Starting to make my notes of questions so that I will be ready and not forget to ask him something. I think the hardest thing about this whole precess is the waiting. I will let you know what happens on the 10th
