Soooo close!

Feb 11, 2011

Hi!  Time for an update.

I am technically about 14 lbs away from my final goal.  I am not sure if i will get there though.  i am at a peek.  Oh well. I have gone from buying 2XL clothes to a SMALL.  I am soooo happy about that.  I wear a mostly 7/8 but i can fit into some 5/6 if they are a bit stretchy.  Hehehehhehehehe!  I am feeling a little bit better about myself, but i am looking forward to hitting my goal.

Hopefully, i can reach it before this summer.  I'll keep you updated!

Love,

Woowhooo!

Dec 14, 2010

Sooo as to my last blog, i did make it to a size 10 by my birthday (which was in Nov.)  Yippy!  I am currently wearing a medium. AND the other day i was shopping for a xmas outfit. I was shocked to see a medium was too big.  I shed a small happy tear as i had to return to the rack to get a size SMALL!  OMG!!!!!!  I swear i don't recall the last time i bought a size small.  WOW!  Anyhow, i am down a total of 106 lbs.  I am soooo close to my goal.  I recently joined a gym and am taking a Cardio Pole Fitness class with my close friend.  This has slowed down the weight loss number in pounds BUT it has accelerated the loss of inches .  =)

as for everything else....ehhh!  You'd think looking the way you want to is what will make you happy.  It's funny how much another person can influence how you feel.  Even though i am told often what a big difference from before to now, the actions don't always portray that!  Oh well!

Can't complain...

Sep 28, 2010

Hello.  Hope all is well with everyone. Just doing a little update. I am down 87 lbs. I am happy, but like most people, the weight loss has slowed down.  i am still losing in a slower pace. It gets frustrating at times. I did stop exercising for about a month and picked it back up last week. Hopefully, this will excelerate the process a bit.

There are days that i look at myself in the mirror and think "wow! i have lost a lot of weight." AND then there are days that i look and think "Gees....i am soooo fat. am i ever going to get to my weight loss goal?!?!" It's crazy how your mind can play horrible games/tricks with/on you.

Anyhow, i am wearing size 12 and they are getting loose on me. I am also in between a Large and a Medium.  Woooo!  i don't recall when the last time i wore a medium was.  heehee.  i am hoping to be in a size 10 by my birthday in November.  I think i can make it.  I hope that is not a unrealistic goal. (although i hope to be even smaller by xmas.)

Keeping myself busy!

Jun 15, 2010

So i have reached my 60 lb weight loss mark. Still have more to go!   i am very happy but like most i get impatient cause i wish i would loose it faster like i did when i first got out of the hospital.  Anyhow, i am doing well and feeling MUCH MUCH better from my gallbladder surgery.  I have been getting my energy slowly but surely.  I almost feel back to normal.  At times i still feel like i haven't lost any weight. It brings me down, but i try to tell myself..."I LOST 60 LBS.  Better to lose it than to gain it."  That helps for a bit.

i have been trying to take my mind off the weight since all i think about all day is WEIGHT!

Hope you all have a great day!

Gallbladder...

May 11, 2010

A lot has happened since i last wrote.  I had noticed i was loosing my appetite and not enjoying food. I also wasn't going to the bathroom normally.  Next thing i knew, on April 21 i started having small upper stomach pains and minor nausea. As time ticked throughout the day, it got worse and worse. By 8:45pm i called my surgeons office, and i was advised to go to the hospital and have a CT scan to make sure it was nothing involving the surgery.  So we headed to the local hospital.  We arrived at 9pm. We didn't get to a room till 1am. The ER doc told me i need to drink two 16 oz cups of contrast mixed with crystal light.  I advised him that i had gastric bypass and can't drink that much...PLUS i was in the hospital with stomach pain and nausea and couldn't keep anything down. He insisted and left the room.  He returned 2 hrs later to find i only drank some of the first cup and got mad at me. I kept trying to explain that my stomach is really small but he didn't seem to care.  he said "don't you think you have the wrong attitude about this. You need to drink it."  i immediately called my surgeons office again (it was 3am).  He told me to only drink one cup. So i did (little by little and with lots of gagging in between.)  When the nurse returns to check on me, she said i need the second cup too.  i said HELL NO!  she told me the CT Tech was mad and said i needed to drink it.  i said "I don't care if the CT Tech is mad.  she's not a doctor.  she's a tech.  i am not drinking it.  my doc told me i didn't have to.  i want to have my CT scan.  this is ridiculous.  i have been here since 9pm and it's now 5am."  Five min later the nurse came in saying they were coming to get me to have my CT scan.  =)  Well...the diagnoses was...i had gallstones.

I went to see my surgeon again a few days later.  at first i didn't want to go through another surgery, but after having a week of nausea and pain...i was like..."take that sucker out." I had my gallbladder taken out a week ago today.  i am feeling much better.  going to the bathroom normally too.  getting my appetite back.  i am still a bit sore though. anyhow, i am happy. =)

Just thought i should share that story!

One month post-op

Apr 06, 2010

All is GREAT!  I have lost 31  lbs.  i cannot complain.  i have started Jazzercize and am going 3 times a week.  I am still eating super small portions but i have opened up the variety. I am eating different types of food but still low carbs and super low sugar.  i was able to enjoy cake the other day...sugar free cake of course and a super small piece. =)  nonetheless, i was happy i got to eat.  i am not going to lie, at times food disgusts me.  In fact, there are days i have to force myself to eat.  The sight of food grosses me out...and there are days my appetite is a bit bigger than other days.  On those days, i have Atkin meal bars handy and just take a bit or two.  The fact that i am chewing makes me feel better!  hehehe.  Anyhow, just wanted to share!

Surgery...done!

Mar 04, 2010

Hello,

wow.  so i had my surgery Tuesday morning.  i was a bit nervous.  everything happened so fast from the moment they laid me down on the stretcher.  After surgery it was tough.  and i mean TOUGH! i was in a lot of pains.  those pain meds were great though. hehehe.  i was walking as often as they told me too.  i must say...i had a severe case of Cotton Mouth.  Yuck!  what an awful felling.  i am now home and fighting a little diarrhea.  It is hard to keep myself hydrated seeing that i am not craving anything but water and can't have too much of that.  anyhow, i am glad the tough part is over and now it's time to focus on losing weight.  i weighed myself tonight and i already lost 6 lbs.  can you believe that?  6 lbs in 4 days.  can't complain.

anyhow, i'll keep you posted.

Ways to tighten skin (so i've read)

Feb 28, 2010

I have been reading about different ways to tighten skin.  Here is what i have found:

- Nourish your skin and encourage it's elasticity. Exfoliate your skin daily to encourage removal of dead skin cells. Doing this each day will stimulate your skin's circulation which should help in tightening skin up.

 - Treat yourself to a hot hour-long bath once or twice a week. While the bath is being drawn, add 1/2lb of pure sea salt to the water and allow it to dissolve. Besides relaxing your body and muscles, it will draw toxins out of your skin and will improve your overall skin tone.

- Aloe vera extract, soy protein and yeast extract can improve your skin's elasticity by increasing your body's production of elastin and collagen. It not only tightens your skin but your skin's natural defenses as well.

- Eating raw food such as cucumber, tomato, olives and coconut can mark an improvement in your skin's elasticity.

- Hyaluronic Acid is naturally found in our body's tissues. It depletes over time, so it's worth supplementing your diet with some. It is critical for muscle growth, so if you're replacing pounds of fat with muscle, it's definitely worth taking. Smokers tend to be lacking this nutrient. It needs magnesium to synthesize, so ensure you're taking magnesium daily to reap its benefits.

- Moisturizer will add up to seventy percent of moisturizer to your skin. When you are losing weight, it is great to use a moisturizer as it will help to maintain that elasticity as your body is shrinking. Cover your body in heavy moisturizer each night before you go to bed. When you apply the moisturizer to your body at night, you may want to wear long sleeves and long PJ's
in order to make sure it does not rub off on your sheets. This will also help to hold that moisture in as you sleep at night.

- When you use a body scrub or loofah at least twice a day, you will be helping to tighten up that lose skin that is caused by weight loss.

- You may not believe this, but massaging the skin helps to build that elasticity back up. You should use mustard oil in order to get the best results. That daily massage will also help your muscles develop. In mustard oil, you will find that there are many medicinal properties in it that will help you to have healthy and glowing skin. (You can also also soak in Mustard Bath for better results.)

- The best asana for you to do in order to tone up that skin is called Bhujang Asana. Lay down flat on your stomach and raise your face up off of the ground as much as you can.

- Applying collagen cream to your stomach area three times a day will help out. You should give the collagen moisture enough time to soak into your skin
