Home Sweet Home

Mar 27, 2009

I am home.  I was released from the hospital yesterday. I am sore and tired but that's expected.  It's great to be home.  Although my stay at Blount was wonderful, and i received excellent care ... there is just something about getting home that makes everything ok.  I go back for my followup next Thursday.  Until then, I suppose I will rest.  Thanks for the notes and support.

One Week from Today

Mar 16, 2009

I am getting so anxious .... in a good way though.  I am really ready for this to be done.  i spoke with a co-worker yesterday who had the surgery a year ago.  She said her ONLY regret was not having it sooner.  She looks and feels GREAT!  I can't wait to be there!

The Process Begins .....

Feb 20, 2009

My surgery (bypass) is finally scheduled.  I am excited but apprehensive as well.  I am finishing up all of the classes my doctor requires.  Most of the classes have been very beneficial.  I attended the required support group meeting last week.  It was wonderful!  The best thing that has been required so far in my opinion.  It was great getting to talk with people who were getting ready for the surgery and those who already had it.  There were some great success stories and some problems.  They didn't sugar coat anything.  The good, the bad, and the ugly was discussed.  All of that made it so beneficial to me.  Anyone near Sevierville, Kodak, or Pigeon Forge who has had the surgery and knows exactly what to expect, I would love hearing from you.
31 days and counting .....
