Update
Aug 10, 2009
Wow, it is hard to believe that 5 months have gone by. I am a size 11-12 and have lost 80 pounds! My husband now calls me bones! The pouch is still the boss and I do not tempt fate! I follow my diet plan and behave most of the time!
I am thankful for this surgery and am glad that I have had the opportunity to have this surgery here in Canada!
My labs have been good so far and I try to take my vitamins everyday!

Who is the boss?
Apr 06, 2009
Well my pouch sure made it quite clear who is the boss! Yesterday, I sat down with my family to have dinner and I was not really paying attention to how fast I was eating!!! Well as you can guess, my pouch had a big complaint about the speed! I had to run, I mean run from the table to the bathroom! A lesson well taught! I will eat slow very slow from now on!

Well today I weighted myself and I am 215, it seems like this is a slow slow weight loss? But, my cloths are starting to get way to big and my husband keeps making jokes about my ass being gone! I guess that is the first place I am loosing all the weight!! Going to go shoppping to Value Village today to get myself some "new" jeans so it at least looks like I have a butt!

Got my staples out today, now I really feel better! I could not stand the thought of broth for dinner again, so I tried a bit of cream soup. Was not able to have much but my god was it good!!!

I had my surgery on Saturday Match 7, what a day!
My sister picked me up at 830am we had to be at the hosptial at 945am. Once I got all registered I went up to my room. Time flow by and it was time to go dow to the operateing room EARLY!! I was wheeled just outside the operating room doors and I could hear the team getting ready for me! I was in tears becasue I was so scared and I was still second guessing myself at this point. The aniethologist came to say hello and said not to worry they would take good care of me! Than Dr. Reed came to say hello and also said no worries! They were so calm it really helped me to stop crying at least! My nurse Tammy came to say hello and also assured me I would be fine!!!Then they had me walk into the room, lay on the table and they started to put all the moniters on and then had me breath some oxygen into my lungs, next I felt the medicine to may me sleep staring to afftect me and out I went. The next thing I remember is a nurse saying they were taking me back to my room!!! I do not remember much after that. I remember seeing my hubby and blabbing how much I loved him and saying hi to my sis! Once I got back in my room I was sorta coherrant but not really!! I did have some pain in my left side but I soon fell in love with my pain pump!!! Every 15 minutes I would puck that buttom!! A couple of hours later I got up and used to bathroom, and also went for a very short walk! The nurses were amazed with me! The next morning I went for a short walk again and was able to sit in a chair for just a few miniutes. Pain was not bad, still used the pump quite a bit. But I am glad I followed my own advice and did the walking, it does hurt but it is worth it, it helps to get your bowels moving and the gas out! I had some really bad shoulderpain and thought I was having a heart attach, but it was just gas, so get movin if you can!
I am now 7 days out and feeling good, I can feel the difference in my weight especially in the behind! I think I lost all the weight there!
I was 241 consult, 231 at surgery, now 219 so it it coming off slow but I know it will all come off eventually so I try not to worry!

A YAear in Waiting!
Sep 17, 2008
Well I finally had my appt with Dr Reed in Guelp, waited a whole year. I remember laughing at the date last year when my dr called to tell me! Now it was here! Where did the year go!
Dr. Reed is a wonderful person, and very professional. I liked the way he talked to other patients and how wonderful his secretary is!
So, I had my consult with the dr, he sent me for blood work and to the hospital for an ultra sound and xray, but nothing moves fast! I still have to wait for 1 month to have an inital appt with the office nutricionist! My hospital test are a week after! But, the journey has started! It will be a long road but I know I am going the right direction!
