One month post op

Jul 31, 2010

My one month and one week post op. I have lost a total of 40 lbs since my initial liquid diet. I have lost a total of 35 lbs since my surgery. I feel so much better. I can actually somewhat cross my legs again! lol  I love that feeling. I found my collar bone again and somewhat of my hip bones. I'm still strugggling with eating soft solids. I'm sick of eating the same ol stuff. I am always amazed with how little I eat now compared to before and I'm litterally full. It's awesome. I went to the doc on my one month check up and I was told that my vitamin D is really low and my cholesterol is up. Well, like I told the doc, what do you expect when all you really can eat is eggs. lol. Anyways, I'm doing great and feel wonderful. I'm glad I had this surgery, I wouldn't go back and change my decision for this at all. Well, I'll do another blog next month. Cya!

First post after surgery

Jun 24, 2010

Well this is day 4 of my post op. I had the Gastric Bypass surgery. Everything went well with the surgery. I have no drain bags and I was up walking around in the hospital the night they brought me out of surgery. I'm tuff and you can't keep me down for long. I was released on June 23 and had the surgery on June 21st in the morning. I have 6 incisons across my belly. The one that hurts the most is where they had the camera on my left side. They are healing nicely. I am in alot of pain, but, it's almost the same kind of pain I went through with my 3 C-sections. The only thing that is the most painful is the gas stuck inside my tissues. I passed gas on the ride home the day of my hospital release and I felt so much better. lol. I never thought I would be excited to pass gas.lol. Anyways, I'm home now and doing great. I can't wait till my one week check up with the doc to see if I can start on my baby food. The only thing that I'm having problems with is the HORRIBLE dreams I have been having. I will fall asleep rather well, but then maybe 1-3 hours into sleeping, I have the most horrible nightmares. I am the type of person that DON'T dream and DON'T have nightmares. This kind of stuff scares me. This one was about my dog. Someone at a party that I was at hurt him and I didn't know it till I found him in the most horrible condiiton. I woke up crying so hard that my tummy was in pain. So, here I sit talking in a blog about it. It's 12:30am and can't go back to sleep for fear of another horrible dream like that one. Other than the nightmares, I am doing well. I will post another blog next week after I see the doc. TTYL.

Going through the liquid diet

Jun 15, 2010

I started my liquid diet about a week ago. I will be honest this is the first time I have had to be this disciplined in a long time. It is very hard to keep focused on my main goal and not to eat. I cannot eat anything that is considered a solid food. Honestly this SUCKS! The only thing I actually enjoy and look forward to eating is my sugar free Popsicles. I will give a suggestion to anyone that reads this and has to go through the liquid diet is to keep yourself busy, take your vitamins and eat lots of sugar free Popsicles. Surprisingly they do fill you up after a few.
