Im 40 years old and just starting this journey. I don't have a surgery date yet, but Im hoping to have one soon.

My story...As a kid I was healthy, growing up I was a good weight (for being so short), but as soon as I got married (1996), I gained weight, rapidly. What I didn't know then, that I know now is... I was in a bad relationship and I turned to food for my comfort. We separated in 2008 and I did good. I got a personal trainer and my weight was slowly decreasing; I was down to 180. In 2010 I had a cervical spinal fusion, that surgery took me out of the gym and away from my trainer for 6 months... and yes, my weight quickly came back on. It has been a struggle lately, my body hurts, im always tired, I have no energy and im always hungry.

Im so happy that ive made this decision. I am looking forward to having a second chance at my life.  What is going to make this journey amazing, is im doing it with my "best friend," my current boyfriend, is my highschool boyfriend and after all these years we have reunited. Weve been together 5 years now and were both have WLS around the same time. It is an amazing start to our new lives.
