Have been looking into and working on getting WLS for about 2 years. Filled out a packet for one surgeon and was rejected as being a good candidate. Waited a while. Truly put extra effort into finding a surgeon in July 2007. Went to a seminar, and that is what made inspired me to really put in the extra effort. The seminar was with Western Bariatric in Reno, NV. They were hard to get a hold of on the phone, always left messages and had to wait for a return call, and it sometimes took a week for them to call me back. Western Bariatric after about 3 months was up front that my California Blue Cross Insurance was not going to cover surgery in NV. I then look for a surgeon in California, who was close to my location.
Dr. Jossarts office was very friendly, and scheduled me for an appt. a couple of weeks later. I met Dr. Jossart. in October, was approved by my insurance in November, and scheduled for surgery in December.
