Long absence!
Sep 06, 2009
I guess it's about time I posted on my blog again. I just don't take the time to write anything except on the Oklahoma Forum, so here goes. I have had such a great time in the 11 months since my surgery. It is so great to feel so much healthier & to get around better. I never realized how low my energy level was or how difficult it was getting just to do my job & get around at 316 lbs. I now go to the gym 4-5 mornings each week & am walking & lifting weights another 2 days a week at home. My husband & I have taken up golf recently, we are still just practicing our swing but look forward to regular visits to the local courses in the near future. This weekend I started running, yes I said RUNNING, something I never thought I would be able to do at any weight. I can run a mile & then I do my power walking. I hope to work up to running 2 or 3 miles, it definitely works different muscles than any walking or workout equipment, my thighs are really sore today!
I am 72 lbs down, 74 to go to goal, so almost half way. I look forward to onederland & goal, things have really slowed down on the scale but I have experienced many NSV's & that is just fine. I know that anything worth doing takes some work, & now I have the energy to work more.
That's all for now
