One year later

Apr 06, 2013

Here I am over one year post surgery and I still don't recognize my reflection a lot of the time. I am so thankful for the surgery and the positive changes it has brought to my life. I am so excited with the changes in my life. I continue to be diligent about the carbs, fat and sugars I consume. I have 20 pounds to go. I work out three times a week and am working towards being able to run my first 5km in May.  In August 2011 I weighed 350 pounds. In February going in for surgery I weighed 322 pounds.... Today I weigh 181 pounds. I shop in stores I only looked at accessories at in the past. I was reminded by husband when I headed into Lane Bryant, that I do not have to pay plus size prices anymore.... I am so excited to reach my next goal and so pleased about the goals I have already reached.

test run

Mar 22, 2012

Have a busy day today, once I leave the house at 11 am I will not be back until after 7. It will be a good opportunity to see how it is going to go when I go back to work. I have my lunch packed, tuna and cottage cheese. A protein shake for a snack.... but I haven't figured out dinner yet.  I need something that can sit in a cooler in the car all day, still on stage three so this may take some planning. I have hard boiled egges but this makes me a little unnerved sitting in the car all day even if in a cooler. There is a chance I can get home after my meeting and before her dance class but I am not confident. We will see how it goes.

Getting it together

Mar 19, 2012

All right it is Tuesday, I am back to work after this week after being home for four weeks. I am trying to figure out how I am going to make the food work with a very unstructured day where breaks are dictated by the day not me.

First outing

Mar 18, 2012

I am three weeks out from surgery and feeling great, most of the time... I thought I was ready to take on a visit with family. So we travelled 3 hours to vist my sister and her family, I couldn't get over how much I packed... Food wise. But the idea of not havin what I have come to rely on for my basic meal plan was just  too over whelming. My husband pointed out to me it was like going away with our daughter when she was on baby food, well he was right. But here we are on Sunday morning I am so glad we came and I know I can handle being with family and not having to worry about my food their food.... I will survive Easter dinner!
