Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital (COE)

"Overall, I think that the hospital is a good hospital and that attitudes are dependent on where you are. I was on a Unit that just didn't know how to handle "fat" people, the particular part of that Unit that usually took the WLS patients was full at the time, so the nurses that had me were not all that nice. But the other parts of the hospital were nice and friendly, I had no problems with them. I loved my ICU stay, my pre-op holding staff was absolutely wonderful, so it really is a Unit thing."

Gregory Schroder

"My doctor is a very compasionate and caring individual. He truely cares about you and your well being. He made me feel very welcome and that I wasn't taking up his time. At my first consult he made sure that all my questions were answered, he didn't rush me. His office staff is very friendly and attentive to you. They act as if they have known you for years. I liked the fact that Dr. Schroder wasn't a pushy doctor, he took the time with you to make sure you understood everything. He is very attentive to you in your aftercare, he makes you come in every 2 weeks for the first 8 weeks. Then you come monthly till you are 3 months post op. Then at 6 months post op he does the blood work to make sure all is going well inside. And then he checks you out at a year. Then it's yearly thereafter. Although he is available to you whenever you need him. Dr. Schroder made no bones about the risks that come w/ this surgery. He made sure that I understood that there was a possibilty that major complications could arise, but they were few and far between. His bedside manner and surgical competence is AWESOME! I had absolutely nothing to complain about in Dr. Schroder. He is one of the best, in my opinion."
