Note: I did not use Dr. Mascareno for my banding. I wish that I had. I have used his name under my avatar but that is incorrect.
I don't know how to change it. Sorry if this is causing trouble in the posts that I have made. I am a patient scheduler for his team Getbandednow.com and I want anyone reading my posts to know this.

It always amazes me how people you don't know have no trouble at all attacking you openly and with contempt. We are all a little different. Thats not a bad thing . I have not always been obese.

I am a certified scuba instructor, I have dove in Mexico, the outer islands off California, The Red Sea. Once on a dive on the backside of Catalina I was the acting dive master because it was a deep dive and special precautions needed to be used.

My job was to make sure everytime someone entered the water they had a buddy also that they did not stay on the bottom for more than ten minuted due to Nitrogen Narcosis. (the Bends)

A guy and his brother and a few friends went into the water no big deal they were from Hawaii and experenced. When they came back to the boat I logged them in and noticed one was missing. Turns out it was that one guys brother.  Well it turns out he ran out of air and didn't make it. I stopped diving after that.

Not sure why I brought that up but it must have been relevant.

I am Italian pure blood. We have a small vineyard in Italy. My Dad is dead my mom is not so well in a home suffering from Alzhiemers, That crap sux.

I have lived in SoCal have all my life. I snow ski and surf and ride motor cycles.

I started gaining weight twelve years ago don't really know the exact time. I slowly found all my activities becoming harder and harder to do.

I kept buy bigger and longer surfboards till the last one. It was a tandem board (for two people). When I paddled out and made contact with a broken wave the board would just turn around and head back to shore. You supposed to dip the nose and go under the broken white water but this board is so bouyant that it didn't go under even though I was on the nose pushing it down. The surf spot I go to has a short sandy beach and everybody parks on the sand facing the wave. It is great fun to sit and watch people surfing. Only thing is every time I got turned around and dragged in to shore people would be there and naturally they would hoot and holler at me. It got pretty bad and I was ready to either cry or kill ...

On day my board washed up onto the beach and a couple guys pulled farther onto the sand. When I went to get back they stopped me and started to make fun of me and the board. I was pissed and determined that wouldn't happen again.

I started to look for help. Did the WW thing and others but you no they didn't work. Had a friend that pointed me to Mexico and this band thingy.

Back them it was the AGB. Well make a boring story shorter I got banded.

I was 370-380 then and now I am hovering around 175-185. I feel good some say I look good and some just give me crap. Can't figure out why.

I hope to shed the remaining tonage by summer 2008. I love my MidBand. I have a number of friends that went to France to have Dr. Freling place their MidBand because he was the designer. I hear he has placed over 7000. I know now that the only way you can place that many bands is to have several patients prepped and ready the he walks in and goes to each one and installs the band and off to the next one while another person closes.

I made great friends with a couple Drs. in Mx through my banding and going down there to surf ( stopped going to that other spot) and started to help them with patients in the US. We built a website and I basiclly schedule people to meet the team and get questions answered. Sometimes I schedule placement dates. Pretty fun at least for me. I meet the people at the airport take them to the hotel for check inthenoff to get pre-op tests and met the team. I hang around and take their travel companions for a tour of the town or go to a restaurant what ever just to be friendly. I like helping folks get banded. I have made a huge number of friends doing this. I love it. I make very little money but the Drs. Do pay for gas, food and hotel so its a mini vacation for me. Sometimes I am up for two days straight.

I have three dogs and four cats that stay inside and several that hang out just around the place.

I work as a Production Artist. I create & rework projects for the entertainment industry. I have been involved with projects from Disney Studios, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, yadayada. You have seen many of my pieces at the theatres these are the posters that hang in the walkways showing new movies to be viewed at the theatres. They are called one-sheets. I work like alot of hours then go surfing or visit my friends in Mx.

I can make pretty good bucks but I pay a price with little to no social life.

I drive two cars a Volvo SUV and a BMW, both used not new.

I have three desktop computers cuz sometimes I work at home and one laptop. I prefer Macintosh but tolerate the PC world. I have tree R/C airplanes that I fly when I have time.

I am having my kitchen redone with all new cherry cabinets and all black granite counter tops. I love to cook, my pop was a chef and owend a steakhouse till he died. I have two brothers and a sister. One bro lives in Arizona, one in North Ca my sis lives in Texas where she works as a  chef

As for weightloss secrets I don't have any. But I know the band when "worked" will provide the stretch that is necessary for that full feeling. It is work every single day.

Isn't it interesting that when you eat something good and healthy the full feeling is the same as when you eat something fattening? Knocks me out!

OK thats it for now if I don't leave this board I would be happy to discus anything band related. But nothing about my picture. Sorry about that but too much attention is not healthy for me. Its always been that way.

At first lots of good positive stuff then with out one word from me it starts to turn to crap.  Kinda like HS. lol!
