One month

Jul 26, 2009

So today is my 1 month anniversary---and what a month it has been--I dropped 16 lbs by day 10 then I dropped another 3 over the next couple of days and then I stalled for a week and then I went up 3 lbs about a week ago--then today it is gone and I am down 19.5 lbs total---I am hoping that means the stall is over---I am on my cycle so I was not to stressed about the weight gain I knew I was not eating enough to actually gain weight---but it was still disheartening---so when I got up to day and it was gone I was so happy!  19.5 lbs gone in 1 month---I will take it and run with it---I am finally pain/discomfort free that happened a couple of days ago---I woke up 2 days ago and that little bit of discomfort in the area where they took out my stomach was gone---I feel great and my energy levels are almost back to normal---

got a surgical appointment

May 13, 2009

Ok so today I went and had my finale appointment with the surgical coordinator---it went prety well--I am down another 5 lbs---so yay me---I am officially done with the pathway classes and have a surgiacl appointment on June first---don't really know what happens next I have heard that I will be scheduled for surgery at that appointment---so we will see I was hoping to have surgery by the end of this month---but I guess that will not happen---and the begining of next month is crazy---my sons Birthday on the 5th and then is graduation on the 13th and graduation party on the 14th---so pretty much so I am hoping that the surgeon is available on the 15th---LOL---I know I know-----I have control issues!!!

Anyway that is all for now!!!

One Step Closer

Apr 14, 2009

SO I went and got my results from the Psych Eval yesterday---Turns out I am sane after all---Huh??  Didn't see that one coming---LOL----I am also a happy well adjusted individual with good cooping kills---Well thank goodness-----now I don't have to have that Break down after all!!!!

So now I just have to sit back and relax and wait for the Psych report to be sent over to the coordinator and then I need to meet with her one more time and then she should refer me over to surgery----I feel like this is just with in reach---I am excited and nervous and all kind of thing all at once---I just can not figure out how I am going to sit back and be patient---LOL---I just want my date!

I know my journey is just beginning---but I feel like I have been trying to get to this point forever---I don't know what to do with myself for the next couple of weeks until I hear from the coordinator---well besides stick to my diet and try to lose a little more weight----I would love to be down 5 lbs more before I see her again!

the moment of truth---LOL

Mar 31, 2009

OK so I went to my last nutrition class today---and had to step on the scale one more time---I thought that I would see the numbers go down a little but I never expected for them to go down as much as they did---I lost 8.5 lbs--which is a good start to that 10 to 20 lbs I have to lose prior to surgery---I am so excited---hopefully the surgery coordinator will at least be slightly impressed---but probably not---Oh well I can only do what I can do!

Another class tomorrow

Mar 30, 2009

OK so tomorrow I have my last nutrition class---I am excited because after this I have only one more class to go.  I have really been trying to watch what I eat the last 2 weeks and have struggled---but feel pretty good---I have been able to get back up and get right back on track both times that I struggled.  They have asked me to lose 10 to 20 lbs---which is not difficult except for the fact that I also have recently quite smoking---I really don't think the coordinator gets that weight gain and not smoking go hand in hand---not weight lose and not smoking---LOL---I don't think she is going to cut me any slack---on anything!  It will be interesting to see how much if any weight I have lost in the last 2 weeks!

Where I am at in this whole process!

Mar 27, 2009

OK so I guess I should let you all know where I am in this process---As stated I am a Military Wife--We were recently stationed overseas and after having been offered this procedure at our last two duty stations---I finally decided it was time back in 2006--unfortunately we were in Okinawa Japan and they would not let me have the surgery and remain there--my husband would either have to ask to leave---which was out of the question--or the kids and I would have to leave and let him finish out his time there---again out of the question military families are separated enough by deployments I was not going to voluntarily take my kids and live away form their father--it was not fair to any of us---so I waited patently---OK so sort of patiently---HE HE HE---I arrived back in the states in late August and the first thing I did was get an appointment with a Dr. and ask about the surgery again---I was disappointed to find that there was a very long waiting list to even start the classes that are needed to have the surgery.  In Oct. I went to the surgeons briefing and then was placed on the waiting list---then in February I received a call telling me that My name was up and that I could start the classes--so I attended the Coordinators class on Feb 23rd and have been working on the other classes since then and only have 2 more to go and then the big psych evaluation---that is the one that scares me the most---cause sometimes I think---Am I really normal???  Oh well I guess we will find out!
