Home and feeling Great!

Dec 19, 2008

This is my first blog as I was to busy getting prepared for surgery. I had my surgery on Monday December 15th and I was the last person to be scheduled for surgery for the day. That was kinda scary! I just hoped everyone wasn't in to much of a hurry to get home. I was rolled in around 8:oopm and woke up to all of my family around 11:00pm. I felt good (because of the drugs) and slept most of the night. The next morning, I took a walk around the floor and was feeling pretty good the whole day. Then they took the pain medicine away through the I V . I think I went to long without asking for pain medicine and was pretty sore until it took effect. The thing that bothered me the most was having to unhook all the wires to go to the bathroom and then having to hook them back up again. I was really uncomfortable the rest of the night, because the I V was starting to bother me and I felt like I couldn't get comfortable . I got hot so I took my socks off then I got cold because my socks were off. The next morning, they told me I was going home and the first thing I ask was when they were going to unhook all the wiring, and take out my I V.
This is Friday and everyday is getting better and better. I have eaten puree eggs, ham, applesauce, chicken , green beans and I have not felt sick . YEAH! I am basically eating the same as my family only mine is puree.
I was disappointed when I got home and had gained the 10 pounds of weight that I had lost before surgery, I found out that it was fluid retention and that 10 pounds is gone plus 3 more!  Only 91 pounds to go!
