5 Weeks In

Down 7 more. They filled the band with 2cc of saline. I was uncomfortable for the first few days. I'm ok now. My bras are too big and my "too small" underwear fit now. LOL Had to get a new belt for work. Things are looking up!

First Post Op MD appointment

Everything seems to be going well! They said I lost 17 lbs! I was so happy I wanted to cry. I still have some pain here and there, but no where as bad as before they took out the fluid from the band. They will add fluid slowly, but that isn't until next month. I'm on pureed food this week and it;s going down pretty well. I can tell when I've had enough. Sometimes I have to slow down because I get that heaviness in my chest. I am going to have to teach myself to do this. Doing what I do for a living, we all shove in the food as fast as possible. I'm definitely going to have to invest in some ready made protien drink for when I go back to work, even though they are pricey. I reccomend buying the baby spoons. It helps control the bites of food you are taking. Going to go and change my weight on my tracker! Talk to you all soon!

In the beginning ....

My name is Ida, I've been battling with my weight since my daughter was born almost 21 years ago (she's on the right in the picture.) I've lost and gained weight so many times I can't even count anymore. I've done every diet under the sun.
Some 8 months ago I made the decision to have weight loss surgery. I went through the diets, the tests, the psychicatric evaluations and I found (joyfully) that my insurance would cover my surgery completely.
On 1.10.11 I had lap band surgery. YAY! I had a set back on 1.12.11 and was in the hospital overnight. I had nausea and dry heaving ... they found that there was too much fluid in my band. Apparently some people have more fatty tissue around the band area than others. They removed 4 ccs of saline from the band. I seem to be on the right track now! Everything is going down and I'm not nauseated anymore.
My next appointment in 1.19.11 and I'm hoping to be moved to the Phase II diet. I've never wanted yogurt, a protein shake or some cream soup more in my life! LOL Updates to follow ... wish me luck!
