My story starts out like most of yours. I started gaining weight when I was bout 6. By the time I was 8 years old I weighed 108 pounds... then 10 years old I was 154. 13..? 200+. I snuck food, and felt it was my only friend. By the time I was 21 I was almost 400 pounds and miserable. My life was filled with food, and men that didnt want to be seen in public with me. Then I met a man that loved me. I decided that it would be in my best intrest and not kill myself with food. I had Gastric Bypass in 2002.

I had complication after complication. I had 2 wounds that stayed open for 6 months. I had to pack them with gauze multiple times a day. I had Blood clots in my legs and was readmitted to the hospital for 2 weeks. From all the pain I developed an addiction to pain medication , that took me over a year to kick.

But now I'm ok. I've gained about 20 pounds back. i'm ok with that, I just want to stay healthy.

I'd have to say that the biggest difference in my life is the way people treat me. i'm not a second class human being anymore. I'm kind of resentful about that.

My favorite thing now is to take ballet classes. something that I loved as a child. I can ride a bike now, I can go to disneyland and fit in the rides!!! And I just feel good about who I am.

Thats my story.
