Despite having been on every conceivable diet since age 10, ultimately I've been happy with myself and my fatness. I am a pretty kick-ass person, after all. I started gaining weight in elementary school, but I was always the "healthy fat girl" with a super active lifestyle. Then I turned 30. Suddenly it wasn't as easy to run around doing the things I was used to doing, and over time, even the things I loved to do took a lot more effort than they ever did before. Then at 36, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and salt sensitivity and osteoarthritis and I decided that I had had enough. I had gastric bypass (RNY) on September 5th. I still love myself and my body, but I'm ready to feel better and get back into the life I love. And clothes. I'm really looking forward to the clothes.

A little more about me:

I'm a blogger, photographer, and community builder, both professionally and for fun. I have an awesome indie/punk music blog at www.whatstheruckus.com
