Nearly 4 years later...

Apr 25, 2015

So I'm that size 5 that people cringe at, and talk about.  "Oh, you're skinny, you don't understand" or "You're lucky, you can eat anything"  Well, let me share that this is not easy, sometimes down right uncomfortable.  I can't eat the way I used to, I can't drink the way I used to...this has effected my social life immensely.  Not saying that this is a bad thing, just totally different than I have been accustomed to for 35 years.  Getting the sleeve is truly a life changing event.  I do miss my old life, but realistically I know my new life is much healthier, more productive and beautiful inside and out.  The energy that I once spent on food, alcohol and cigarettes is now going toward health, prosperity and spirituality.  Like I said, a totally different life!

2 months is right around the corner!

Aug 29, 2011

I feel like I am back to normal for the most part. I still haven't had a salad, because I heard the lettuce is too ruff on my belly, but am looking forward to trying it soon! I am having a hard time during lunch at work. I only get 30 min and like to do other stuff besides eat.  I have noticed that when I eat too quick I get a pain in my chest that causes me to throw up. Does anyone else experience this? I'm really working on slowing down. Sometimes I wait too long to eat, to where I'm starving, then eat too fast and have the same results.  I don't think I am overeating, but now sure.  I'm also having a hard time with the whole not drinking for 30 minutes before/after I eat.  I like to wash my food out of my mouth with liquid after eating, but don't want to lose nutrients.  I do the best I can!

One Week

Jul 13, 2011

I went for my one week check up and am down 8lbs! Yae!  I also challenged myself today and went around my friends that trigger negtive habits and I survived.  I did come home early, but I lasted for a couple hours!  Kinda felt hungry today, in general.  Today was the first day I didn't measure and tried to eat the remainder of my sugar free mousse and protein powder.  I guestimated that it was about 4-5 oz, but it must have been more because I was a little nausous afterwards.  I walked a couple of miles then when I got home I ate 3 ozs of pureed bean soup (still a lil too thick). I will add broth to it tomorrow but now I'm finally full!  I know I'm all over the place, but just wanted to get all this off my chest. Would love to hear your opinions...

Finally, I'm Post OP

Jul 10, 2011

So, I'm a couple days post op and so far, so good.  I feel like trying to figure out how to get enough fluids and protein into this small little sleeve is a full time job. I'm glad I took all of next week of so I can get some new habits in motion.  Any ideas are welcomed...
