Well, I've been overweight nearly all of my life. I am the 5th child of 6 and I was the "fat" one. I've tried everything from doctor-supervised diets, Atkins, Slim fast, Weight Watchers...I've ran the gamut of weight loss attempts. It's been a long road and I made the decision about a year ago to talk to my doctor about Weight loss surgery. I had gotten the information many times from Barix and was too scared to call before last year...I kept thinking "I could do this on my own." Well, I've come to realize that I need some help. I had my initial consultation at Barix Clinics in Ypsilanti, Michigan on January 21, 2008 and had to do a bunch of pre-requisite stuff including clearances for cardiac and lungs, psychological evaluation, and a 6-month physician supervised diet. So here I am now...all my paperwork is in and it's in the hands of my insurance company. I'm still waiting to hear about my approval and am praying it will come soon!
