On My Way

I haven't really had all the much ambition to post in the last week or so due to my surgery being on Monday. Everything went great before and after surgery and now that I have lost my HUGE post surgery gain of 20 lbs, I can really start to feel things happening. I'm really looking forward to moving on to the soft foods stage since I am already bored with pudding, yogurt, and Popsicles. Well, I am going to try to post more on here and get a little more active in the forums now that I am on the losers bench.
PATS Finished, One week to go

Everything went great at my PATS on Tuesday. There really wasn't that much too it and it only took about 3 hours including the NUT class. Two weeks to go and I am finally getting a little anxious. I have a feeling I won't be sleeping at all on the night of the 4th.
Two Weeks

Well, I'm two weeks away from my surgery date now. Starting to get a little nervous now, but nothing that big. Thankfully I have a great girlfriend who is really supportive, so it makes it alot easier. As I was looking at some of the before pics in the message boards, I started remembering where I got my pic i am using as my avatar. Me and my girlfriend had planned a trip to Vegas, just a quick weekend trip, and I really didn't have any decent spring cloths, so I had to go to Meijers the day before the flight and get a couple of new shirts. After getting two that I really liked, XL of course, I went home and packed up for the trip. The next day I went to put on of them on and lo and behold, it didn't fit. I was so pissed that I had gone past the whole XL stage and was now into the XXL stage. I had to return both of them and get XXL sized instead, which is the one I am pictured in. We also ended up in Florida instead of Vegas due to weather problems, so it was a weekend full of suprises. I'm really starting to look forward to this change, to think that I might possible be able to not only wear medium sized clothes, but maybe even tuck them in, is a great feeling for me.

Got My Date Today

Well, got the call from scheduling in Ypsilanti this morning. My PATS are scheduled for April 22 and my surgery is scheduled for May 5. It still seems very strange to know that after almost a year I have finally come to the end of one journey and am about to begin a whole new one. I can still remember when the doctor told me that even though I had to do a year of supervised diet, it would go by in no time. At that time it seemed like forever, but now I can see she was pretty accurate in her statement. I'm guessing that the next month is going to be filled with alot of restless nights and questions for everyone in the forums. Hope to chat with some of the losers soon,

Well, It's really going to happen. I talked to the people at Dr. Schram
's office this morning and they told me that I was in the system now and all I needed was for the Dr. to sign off so I could be scheduled. I guess he's on vacation this week, so it will be next week at the earliest. Now my only worry is that I am still laid off due to the American Axle strike and will have to pay a fortune in Cobra payments to keep from having a lapse in coverage. Well, I've waited this long, I guess a week or two more won't make much difference.
