Well, I have my surgery set for Jan. 9th, 2007 at 7am. I have to meet Dr. Ricon on the 8th. My husband is going to go with me, which makes me very happy. I am excited and nervous. I have wanted this surgery for so long and I can hardly believe that it is actually coming true!!! After trying for nearly two years I will have my weight loss surgery. I will not be having gastric bypass, but instead have decided to go with the Lap Band System. You get the same results, but it is less invasive and the weight loss will be slower and I'll have to work harder at it, but that's okay. Hard work has never scared me. As long as it works, I'm okay with that. I know it is up to me to make this fabulous tool work for me!! Toby and I will be flying out of Minneapolis on Sunday, Jan. 7th. The kids will be staying with their father for that week. They were very understanding about this.

I met with my family doctor, Dr. Ippel today to have my pre-op tests for my weight loss surgery. He is being so supportive of my decision. Dr. Ippel had me stay in his office until he had all my notes dictated and typed a copy and gave ti to me. He then faxed everything down to Dr. Rincon. Hopefully I can set up my surgery today or in the real near future.

Current Weight: 305#.

I received an email & voicemail from Dr. Rincon. I called him back. After speaking with him, he feels I definately qualify for the procedure. I downloaded and filled out the medical history papers and mailed those out priority mail so he will hopefully receive them by Wednesday at the latest.

After months of research,  I sent an email today to Dr. Jorge Rincon in San Antonio, Texas. he is a doctor that performs wieght loss surgeries. He also has financing for the Lap Band Procedure. At this point, I know I have to do something because my health just continues to deteriorate. The cost of the procedure is $12,000.00. My BMI is up to almost 45%.
