Time is getting close

well i am getting close to my surgery date... Getting a bit nervous.. a nurse friend of mine keeps trying to talk me out of doing the surgery... she says you will look great for a couple years then you will lose hair due to malnutrition and vitamin deficiency... anyone out there past 2 years? if so how are you? any of the above problems?
