Here goes nothin'......

Jul 21, 2009

Ok so I'm not much of a writer so Im going to give this my best shot. I have stuggled with my weight for many years, I was always the chubby kid growing up. After high school when I was finally starting to thin out I got pregnant with my first. 8 months and 50 Lbs later. I had my first daughter. She was premature. I had to stay home with her for the first 6 months which didn't help I gained more. At this point I'm about 225. Over the next 3 years I lost then gained and on and on my weight went up and down. Then I found out I was pregnant again! Round 2. I had just started loosing again and was in a good routine, my doc suggested that I continue with what I had been doing. It wouldn't hurt Because I was about 245.So over the next 6 months I exercised and walked and ate healthy and lost about 10 more pounds! Doctor was impressed and baby was growing fine! I went for my 29 week check up Dr said everythings great keep it up but baby is in breech position, and if she doesnt turn soon I'd have to have a C-section.OK I can deal with that. I went home cooked an amazing dinner, and started having contractions!WHAT?!? So I go to the hostpital They admitted me and sure enough I was In labor! I had to be transfered to St. Vincent's In Portland because our hostpital is not equipped to deal with babies that premmie. I had her at 29weeks She weighed 2lbs 6oz. She had to have help breathing and eating, so she had to stay for over 60 days I lived in a guest house across from the hostpital. I became depressed quickly. Thinking what is wrong with me why cant I just stay pegnant and have heathy babies? I started gaining again. If I wasn't up in the NICU I was somewhere eating! So finally she came home. Because of her size and under developed immune system we stayed home all the time except to go to the Dr's. This went on for a year finally the Dr gave the ok for me to go back to work. So over that year I gained even more and have over the past 4. She is now 5 and for the most part very healthy. I am currently at 288lbs. I am down 3lbs since I weighed in at OHSU for the first time. I feel like I'm regaining control and SO READY TO DO THIS!! I began my WLS journey in Feb 2009. After a long wait I got approved and scheduled! My pre-op is in 6 days!!! WOOP-WOOP! My RNY is in 48 days!! Its becoming more of a reality now. So sorry for rambling on but first timer here.LOL so I feel a little better after getting that  out. wow I may try this again sometime. THANKS
