Tomorrow is my 6 year anniversary for my rny. Wow, time sure flies.
I started my journey at 310. I am now down 130 pounds. I am up about 20 pounds from my lowest weight. I went through a very stressful part of my life 2 years ago. I had gained 30 pounds but have since lost 10 of those. Am working really hard to get these last 20 pounds off. I am still very happy with my weight loss.
Life is good. I have a few health issues. I have developed an anastamosis ulcer. This is an ulcer that is right at the stoma. I had it in '06, then it was cured. It has returned so am back to taking prilosec. I go back for a scope in December to see if it had gone away again. I was anemic for awhile. I started taking Tender Iron from vitalady.com and finally this type of iron has worked for me and my numbers are great. I have osteopenia, which is the stage before osteoperosis. I take 3 calciums a day. My last bone scan was the same as the one the year before. This is good because it hasn't gotten any worse.
Even with these issues, this is the best decision I have ever made for myself. The most important thing I have learned is to take each day one at a time. Don't worry about the little mistakes we make. Pick ourselves up and start over. Also, surrounding myself with positive people has really helped. I've also learned to make sure the I stay on top of my health issues.
Life is wonderful!!!
