I attended an information seminar two weeks ago with the doctor I have chosen for WLS and submitted my application for approval. I meet the automatic criteria for my insurance by having a BMI greater than 50 so I don't have to have any co-morbid conditions. I am anxious to start scheduling my appointments with the nutritionist and psychologist. The clinic told me to go ahead and get a referral from my PCP for a sleep study and to get an official starting chart weight from a medical provider. I weighed in at my doctor's office yesterday and my official starting weight is 314. I also have an appointment at the sleep clinic on July 30th. I wish it were sooner but that's okay. I just need to have it done before surgery. I'm really hoping to have my surgery either by the beginning of September or the beginning of December. I'm a full-time student and this way I don't have to miss any school.
