Jaymie, Congrats on your success. You are doing great. Have you ever thought of journeling? Why does food comfort you and what are you getting from food. I have found that I actually enjoy my food now because for the first time in many, many years I take the time to eat and taste the flavor and not just stuff it in. It did take a while for that to kick in. By not depriving myself of something that I really want I do not feel like I am always "dieting". The big difference is now that one teaspoon does the trick most of the time. Keep the spirts high and keep on truckin'. KimmieTN

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for saying that you have only dropped 1 clothing size! I was beginning to think I was going crazy. I've lost 77 pounds, and have gone from a 5X shirt at Catherines to a 4X, and I'm still buying the *same* pants, though they are looser. Just today somebody posted to the board, "I've lost 45 pounds and gone from a size 24 to a 12." Now, I ask you. I realize this person must have only 100 pounds to lose, and is therfore half-way to her goal, almost, but that still doesn't make sense to me. If she's gone from a 24 to a 12 at halfway through, what's she going to do on the last half? 12 to Zero? ///I started at 385 and am at 308, so, like you, I am still a big girl. I tried Wal-Mart 26/28's the other day, and no deal. Sigh. It goes so slowly. I have not had surgery, so it's taken me since mid-March, 2002 to lose what I've lost. I should break 300 by mid-March 2003. Maybe 90 pounds lost will make a bigger difference than 77. Anyway - God Bless You- I really appreciated what you had to say. -Kim

Hello everyone. I know it has been a very long time since I have posted anything. Well all is fine with me. As of today, I have lost 80 pounds since surgery on October 7th of 2002. I have to say honestly that it truely has been a learning lesson for me. I still struggle with what foods to eat, how much because at times I can eat more than others and also getting past the desire to just eat anything thing I want. Well that last part is one that if you eat something wrong, you will pay for it later. As for the vomiting, well I don't do that too much and usually it is because I have tried something new to eat and it was too much for my pouch. I will say that it is funny that I have not really lost any clothes sizes, I was a big girl starting out at 414 and now I am 334 but I am down only one size and all that depends on how the clothes are cut. The support from my whole family has been great. At first everyone was against this surgery and now everyone is just in ahh as to how I am doing. Now I just hate the sagging skin and ripples in my thighs so I have started to work out some. That is still hard because I am still in the 300's. Sex is about the same for me. I never really had a problem with my husband and I just seem to still be rolling on that one. Now I do notice that I am not as tired as I use to be and I sleep less. I can walk now for longer periods and do more with out being so tired and that is wonderful. When asked if I would have this surgery again, I say yes but I truly miss my old friend name food because since surgery I just get that complete enjoyment out of eating as I use to and I guess I never really will but I did this for my health and for my families health and everyone seem to be benefitting from this. With love to all. Jaymie - my email should anyone have a question ever is jrsk1@yahoo.com

Sorry it has been so long. Well I am coming up on one month, as of last monday the 28th - exactly three weeks, I lost 33 pounds. I feel pretty good but the week has been full of vomitting everything I eat just about. I don't really know why but I know I don't like it. But as for everything else, all it fine. I will keep in touch as much as possible.
