"I love my surgeon and he and his staff are obmitted from this. The hospital was very run down, the nurse staff seemed understaffed and horrible attitudes. The occupational therpy nurse was wonderful and I often wondered how she ended up there. She even had problems with the nurse staff while trying to help me. Upon arrival at 6:00 a.m the unorganization began and it continued until they knocked me out. I was very emotional and scared and so was my family before they even started things. I mean they didn't even have my chart and begain administrating and IV and other medications based on me providing them with my name. They kept saying the charts should have been there. The eppedural people were horrible too. When I got to the operating room, it was hot in there by the way my first thought was sterial??? aren't these usually freezing? They were like ok, move over to this table. I was tatally numb by now, my back and stomach and my left leg. I tried for a couple of minutes to move myself, with 3 people just sanding at my side looking at me. Finally I wa in tears and I said, I can't do it, maybe if you lift my left leg I could push and they were like, well lets see and mumbled among themselves and finally lifted the sheet and me over to the table. I haven't said a word, but I think I will let my surgeon know on my 1mts checkup."

"Dr. Hocking was wonderful. First off, I have Health Option which is pulling out of Shands this month, March 2002. In order to be covered by the insurance I had to be established at Shands by March 15th. I was orginally scheduled to see Dr. Rout at Shands but he could not see me till July 2002. A friend of mine had used Dr. Hocking in 1999 and remains very good friends with him. He is no longer taking new patients but agreed to see me. That in itself says alot. Anyway he was wonderful, did not rush me or make me wait he was right on time. Answered all my questions and even gave me his e-mail and said e-mail me anytime with any questions. His staff was very patient and helpful too. He said he felt like I would have no problem being approved and expected to know in about 3 weeks. He said he was scheduling about 2 mts out. I was very pleased with my vist with Dr. Hocking and feel that I am in good hands."

Jennifer Miley
"Due to insurance issues I had just lost a wonderful hospital and primary doctor. I had gone to a couple before I tried Dr. Miley. I was so pleased with her my first visit. I felt like I was talking to my best friend."
