I am 28yrs old and I carry 273lbs on my 5'6" frame. I have battled with my weight since age 11 weighing in at 155lbs. My 6th grade teacher brought it to my attention that I weighed more than her and I needed to lose weight. Ever since then I have dieted myself to my current weight. You know the classic lose 10 gain 20 routine I have become a master at that. Well I am going to change that ASAP. I have decided to go through Pacific Bariatrics for my surgery. Because it is the most cost effective through my insurance. I have Blue Cross PPO so my part of the surgeons fee will be $400.00. When I originally started thinking about WLS I went to Dr. Julie Elner wonderful Dr. . I wanted so bad to have her as my surgeon. Unfortunately my cost just for the surgeons fees was going to be $5,500.00 ouch. So I did some research and found that Pacific Bariatric is contracted with my insurance. I can't believe it I got a phone call from Pacific Bariatrics while typing this. I just got the date for my first 3 eveluations. March 1st and my surgeon will be Dr. Tanaka. I attended the seminar on February 6th. So things seem to be moving fairly quickly. Thank goodness I can't stand being in pain anymore physically or mentally. I am tired of being tired I long for the energy to clean my house and play with my children. I will try to keep posted bye for now!
