Jump Starting My Weight Loss!!

Dec 16, 2011

Hello out there!!!

Oh my goodness, its been so long since I posted, I almost forgot how to log in. Tisk Tisk. Well it's been 7 years and 10 months since I had my original WLS with Dr. Singh & Averbach in MD.  I have since relocated to GA and on Thursday Dec. 15, 2011, I underwent an EGD with Sclerotherapy with Dr. Larry Hobson here in GA.

Only 1 day out and I am doing well with just basic vitamin water, a little broth and protein shake sips.  Slight discomfort around the stomach area, but otherwise it was a painfree process.

Although I know that WLS is just a tool, I am excited about the prospect of this next level of weight loss.

I plan to journal more and interact more, but I am always open for questions, and suggestions!!

Have a great day all!!!

Good Morning,

Ok, so its not quite every few days, but at least I came back to post an update.  I have switched insurance companies since I had my surgery done, so I was going to have to try and finance my tummy tuck and beast reduction.  So I visited my PCP last week and I found out that my new insurance company may cover both!! With the steady loss, gravity has taken over and everything is pulling down.  I am starting to get grooves in my shoulders from the weight of my breasts, even with all the new bras and support items.  Then I had an issue wioth the extra stomach skin chaffing and giving me a rash under my belly.  So I had to use a special cream and powder.  no matter how well I dried it, it was always irritated.  So everytime I go he documented those concerns.  In addition he sent me to other doctors and specialists and they documented with pictures and follow up visits.  So my doctor says that maybe in a monthor two he will submit a request to my insurance company for medically necessary "reconstructive surgery", since we have over 6 months of documented complaints and visits.

Hopefully it will go well.  Ta Ta for now and God bless!!

Hello,

I am trying to keep with my promise of posting every few days.  So far I am doing good.  Since my surgery I have been waiting for the day I could get my tummy slim and bare my belly button to the world in a bikini.  But since I have begun the process of searching for a surgein to do my cosmetic work, I am looking forward to that day a lot less.

I was living in MD when I got my surgery done, but have since relocate dto GA, and there are a million and one plastic surgeons here.  But all the one s I seem to visist have this "Perfect Ending" thing going.  All I want is my stomach and love handle done and maybe a little off my thighs.  I know eventually my breasts will have to be reduced otherwise I would fall over, but most of these doctors want to nip and tuck stuff I dont want done.

So another day another search.

Ta ta for now and God bless

Hello!! Another year and I still have not kept up with my page as much as I promised I would. But I am here and going to try and do this one more time. I am 3 years out and still following a healthy eating plan. At one point about a year and a half ago, I hit a plato with my weight, but i just stuck it out and continued to eat right and now my weight loss has started to decrease again. I am now at the stage were I can happily go and get my tummy done and my breasts too, but i think I want to wait just another few months. I started gathering information from doctors here, but my concern is the recovery time and the limitations that Iwould be under while I recover. But that is another story I guess. So until I finish updating my page. Ta Ta and God Bless

Hello All!!! I am sooooo sorry for not updating as much as I had planned, but one thing I realize is that when you loose weight and get active, your social life takes off. There has been so much I wanted to do in life and with my kids, that it has been a whirlwind of events. I don't have a lot of time today to update, but I'll try and do it over the weekend. I am still losing, so I haven't started looking into any surgeons yet for my stomach, but I will come August. The weight is coming off and I seem to be keeping it off, so I guess alls well that ends well.

Thanks again to everybody who has been emailing me. I know that I have been a virtual hermit, but forgive me again. I have finally gotten my pictures changed so now you can see the before and after as I promised!! I look at that picture and just marvel at how far the Lord has brought me from where I was to now. I am happy to annouce that since my last posting a few weeks ago, i have come down to a size Medium shirt and slowly feeling out the 14 bottoms. I am happy to be here so I won't complain if it takes some time. I again must give my sincere thanks to the members here. There is no place else in the free world where you can give unconditional love to a person hat you have never laid eyes on and may never meet in your life, but you still find a way to love and honor them as if they were your sister or brother next door. With the few issues I had after surgery, I am thankful to those of you who prayed for me and my slow draining pouch!! LOL I didn't care if it dripped like an IV I was getting up out of that hospital and with prayer and faith I DID!! Thanks again. i look forward to many more posts. Now with that said and done, let me discuss my holiday!! GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY!!!!!! This was my first major holiday that I was unable to feast like normal. Not only did my desire to feast subside since surgery, but my passion for cooking has as well. I didn't even cook this year, I ordered my meal pre-cooked from Giant. I just made my own stuffing because theres was spicey, and added some greens and mac n cheese. then after all that...I ate less than 1/2 cup of food. I think I got full from just smelling the food as I heated it up. But I am proud to say that I did not crack!!! I ate my food slowly and I marveled at the fact that I was really full. then i slept it off and had a protein shake later in the day. With Thanksgiving conquered......I look forward to Christmas. Until next post.....Ta Ta and God Bless!!

It has been a coon's age since I updated my page, but so much has gone on in my life that I had no time. I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but after surgery, I rededicated myself to the Lord, and I have been active in church more than before. So that is why I am behind on my page. I have lost 55 pounds since my WLS 4 months ago, and I have gone from a size 28 pants to 18 and from a 3x-4x shirt to a 2x-1x. I can get into a 16 pants, but can't button them up, so I will keep going strong until I can. Until my next update..Ta Ta and BE BLESSED

WEIGHTLOSS UPDATE DRUMROLL PLEASE....(imagine the sound) 40LBS DOWN!! April 5 will be 2 months out for me, and to be down 40 pounds is a dream come true. I can't ever remember being under 290 since the birth of my twins, let alone to be under 260! Now I am 254 and I feel AWESOME!! I will admit that since I know my body can tolerate sugar, I did sneak a snicker popables into my mouth one day. So for the next 2 days I did liquids and pureed foods. LOL I had to catch myself and remind myself that I am what I eat and that if I am not careful, I will regain what I've lost. So I cleared my house of all of the bad foods. I swear I have no clue where that candy came from. It just fell out of the cabinet when i was going for my protein mix. I think it must have been left over from my Super Bowl / Last Good Meal party in February. But, none the less...they are no more. I can't think of anything else right now, so maybe I'll post tomorrow. Ciao
