"Dr. Abu Jamra is wonderful. I'm only two weeks out of surgery and there was absolutely no bruising and the incision line is very tiny. He is a very skilled surgeon. I'm so glad i chose him to do this proceedure for me."
"My first impression of Dr.Cyndy (as i'll call her) was that she seemed like a person that gets down to business. She's serious and knowledgeable about what she does and is very professional. I got the impression that she was going into battle for me and was going to take no prisoners :) So, i felt at ease knowing that she wanted to help me 100%.
As a bit of advice to others going in for a consult, i would tell you to be prepared to listen to all the info she gives you and then ask the questions you want answered after. She has a LOT of info to share with you in a short time, so keep those ears perked.
As far as the aftercare program that Bellin offers, i've heard that it is still in it's early stages, but is improving rapidly. I'm happy to know that they have such a program in place for the bariatric post op patients that can focus on our needs afterwards.
As far as her answering the tough quesions, ie: risks, % of deaths, complications- she was very straight forward and shared documented statistics and also her own personal experiences with her patients who have experienced some problems...i was glad to hear that she had a very good history of low complications and no deaths. My fiance' quickly said to me-'Now, don't you go bein' a trailblazer now, Tam!' hahahaha! We all chuckled and Dr. Cyndy reassured us that even though there is the chance of complications, they all are normal risks of this type of surgery and that the percentages are quite low.
I look forward to having a great patient/Doctor relationship with Dr. Cyndy.
