Surgery

Nov 27, 2009

Surgery was November 20th.
We had to be at Forest Park Medical Center at 5:30am.  I was the first to go~I had an EGD first off.  I got emotional prior to getting my IV.  I suppose I was scared and nervous.
The EGD was nothing......we had to wait for about 2.5 hours for my real surgery but it went by really quick.  I was in and out in no time.  Well that is how it seemed to me.  Jim said it seem like they would never tell him he could go back to see me.  Next thing I recall it being in my room.
In no time I was up and walking and using the toilet.
The worst part of the whole thing was all of the blood that they had to take.  I was hooked up to the IV on my left arm and my right arm has no veins what so ever.  So when my blood work came back low they said that I might have to have a couple of units of blood.  I prayed that my blood would correct itself~and Praise the Lord it did.  That of course was after having blood drawn 3 times out of my hand. (Which hurts like heck)
I did stay in the hospital 1 extra day but I'm glad that I did.  I was able to go home on Sunday.
For the most part my surgery and hospital stay was uneventful.
I did meet a fellow OHer which was having surgery too.  Loren was having her surgery the day after me.  It was nice to put a face and voice with a screen name.

Short hair woes~

Oct 25, 2009

I am currently in the dumps~
I cut my hair short about 3 months ago and each time I find a scrunchy (hair clip or holder) around my house I get emotional about cutting my hair short.
I finally got my hubby of 20 years to confess that he likes my hair longer and had I known that I wouldn't have ever cut it.
Needless to say I'm praying that I don't lose much hair and that it grows like crazy these next couple of months.
I did add a couple of photos of me with longer hair and those make me sad too.  What was I thinking!?????
