I am 58 years old and have been fat as long as I remember. I was the kid in grade school that other kids called "fatty, fatty, two by four". I have tried every diet around. I think I should get the WW revolving door award.
I live in Washington State and am a state social worker. I live at the beach with my hubby and 6 cats. It's a good life and I'm really pretty happy with my simple lot in life.
However, I want to live a long life and to do that I need to lose the excess weight .... I've tried over and over again for 50 years to lose it. Isn't that what they call insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
This past year my insurance company finally decided to cover RNY....and I signed up last July, 2007. I had to jump through hoops for the insurance folks and finally got my referral in January, 2008 and now I have a surgery date on April 15, 2008, if I can get a sleep apnea assessment before that. I am scurrying. I'll make it though....just watch! :) I have appreciated everyone on these boards....I have learned so much and you all have prepared me so well!
