One year ago today at this time, I was in the operating room and the most wonderful doctor was about to change my life forever! I have lost a total of 118 pounds in a year.....wow.....but I still have about 60 pounds to go...I know I can do this! To those of you looking to have surgery...I can tell you that I would do this again in a heartbeat! This surgery has changed my life dramatically and I am so thankful to Dr. DeWitt and all his staff for helping me through this year!

6 months ago yesterday, I was 345 pounds! But thanks to Dr. Dewitt and his staff at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL, I am at 259 pounds today...an 86 pound lost. This has been such an awesome ride...I would do it over again in a heartbeat. I am a little over halfway to my goal of the # of pounds I want to loose and I know I can make it to my goal! Thank you to everyone who has supported me during this time!

It has been just over two months since my surgery and I have met my first goal of being under 300 pounds. I now officially weigh 297 pounds, with a total loss of 48 pounds! I am so excited. This surgery has been life changing and I am so excited about the things to come!

I made it home, Wednesday, February 28th. I feel great - of course, just a little sore & tired - but that goes with the territory. I'm so glad that I have finally made it to the loser's bench. I know that it's going to be the ride of my life, but I'm buckled in and ready to go!! I'll keep you posted.
Surgery Scheduled

As of Tuesday, February 20, my surgery has been scheduled. I will be having Lap RNY surgery on Monday, February 26, 2007. I cannot wait!!! There are a million feelings running through my head - scared, nervous, excited!!!! I know that Dr. DeWitt and his staff will take great care of me - I put my faith in them, but most of all I know that God will take care of me because He is the greatest doctor!!!! I'll update after my surgery!

On Saturday February 3, 2007 I received my approval letter for surgery from BCBS AL. I still have to do a couple things before I can actually have the surgery, but it will be coming very soon!
