I am a mother of two boys
. I am a registered nurse and a vegetarian. Most of my life I have been obese. I made a conscious decision in April of 2007 to have WLS, when my weight reached 256lbs on my 5 foot 3 inch frame. I had Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass Surgery on September 11, 2007 and my pre-surgery weight was a whopping 281lbs. Through the process of preparing for my surgery, I lost my best friend~my father and I found out that I have hypothyroidism. Both of these factors exacerbated my weight gain and made it even more of a necessity for me to have WLS. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me.....
ONE YEAR LATER......
Wow, here I am, 1 year later and 103 pounds lighter!!!! I have battled hypothyroidism this past year, so this weight loss has not come easy. I have had to take on major eating habit changes, medication adjustments, and regular aerobic exercise. And it has paid off!!!!! I feel FABULOUS!!!!!!!! My energy level is through the roof. I have started graduate school for nurse-midwifery. I have the energy to play with my boys (YAY!!!). And I can shop in "misses" and "petites" in my favorites stores! Now I adventure to lose the last few pounds to get to goal and I'm working on toning this new body. I'm still on this journey and I can't wait to see what happens next..........
Three years and 2 monts later and down to 170lbs (that's an amazing 111lbs lighter)!!!!!!!!!!!!!
