Sleep Study Done!!
Mar 22, 2013
Hopefully I wont have to do that again! OMG it was so uncomfortable to sleep in a strange place (but I must admit it was a beautiful room in a hotel), with someone watching you and hooked up to wires and machines all night. I got to the hotel at 9pm and someone from the sleep study program came and brang me to my room, i filled out some paper work and changed into my jammies right away. I had a light late dinner ( i know it was late but i made healthy choices and it wasn't nothing heavy) At 10 pm she came in to start to hook me up to these wires cause by 10:30pm I had to be in bed. I usually fall asleep between 3am and 7am so 10:30 was a lil early for me, I woke up a few time to use the bathroom n to drink water, after i slept what felt like a few hours (30 mins) the technician tells me she needs me to sleep for and hour an a half more so then she can put the cpap machine on me and see how i sleep with that. after she put the cpap on it took me sometime to fall asleep but once i did i was out until 6:30 when she woke me. after that i washed all that nasty crap off my body and out my hair I went to breakfast them went home.
Sleep Study!!
Mar 20, 2013
So night I go for my sleep study, I am kinda nervous, idk if I will be able to sleep I have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep even more so knowing someone is watching me lol. On the plus side I get to stay the night in a nice hotel and a free breakfast buffet and access to the gym and pool until noon!!! lol I received the sleep study package in the mail today, explaining all the rules and telling you what to bring and not bring. Also what to wear no night gowns and no nude sleeping lol. I'll post my experiance with that either Friday or Sat. Hope everyone has had a blessed week so far.
Last week...
Mar 16, 2013
So glad last week is over it was crazy! Monday I went and did my blood work for my pcp and for the surgeon, I left the house by 9:30 and was out by 10. I thought my MRI was at 11:30 (at least that's what was in my planner in my phone) but my appointment wasn't until 2. I don't drive so I wouldn't have a ride back at that time. So i had to change it for Friday. Wednesday I had to go for my pulmonary clearance. Once i got to the place and was about to get in the elevator they call me on my phone to tell me i was late for my appointment, but they still seen me, My breathing was normal and my x-rays were clear. I had to get a referral to another place for my sleep study cause they don't take my medical there for the sleep study (makes no sense to me but what ever). Thursday I had to go back to the cardiologist for my echocardiogram, again in my phone it says one time and as soon as i was about to step out the door to head over there they tell me no you missed your appointment it was at 10:45 not 11:45, IDK what the fuck is up with my phone if its changing times or if the time change messed with things but it had me all messed up.So I have to o n Monday for that. Friday I went back for my MRI and all went well they made it seem like i had to go for a special open MRi because of my weight so I had to go to a different center. I had a closed MRI. I have to make a few calls on Monday, I never got a call back from the therapist and i have to make my appointment for my sleep study they called me during my MRI and was closed by the time I got out. I am still debating if i should vlog my journey, Well its time for me to try to get some sleep...lol yeah right
New PCP
Mar 09, 2013
So I wasn't really feeling my PCP and having trouble getting in touch with the nutritionist that my surgeon provided for me. Thursday (March 7) I had an appointment with a new Doctor at South West clinic here in Bpt. I must say I really like that place, the staff was very nice the Doctor was very nice, they were very informative and very helpful, and best of all they are one of those all in one places. I got my appointment with my nutritionist and therapist!!! I also have lost 10 pounds from my last weigh in (Feb. 18th)!! This week coming up I have a few appointments Monday I have to go for an MRI cause they found something on my liver during the ultrasound but Dr. Fridman says there isn't anything to worry about its maybe a cyst or a piece of fat but they want to check to be 100%. I also go for my pulmonary function test and at that same time I will make my appointment for my sleep study, and for the second half of my cardiac evaluation. I am so ready to keep things moving and get everything right to get this done.
Has anyone else got addicted to watching ppls youtube vlogs about wls? I swear I spend hours watching ppls stories and journeys. I have been thinking about vlogging my journey but idk if I can sit there and talk to my web cam with out someone talking back lol.
Where to begin...
Mar 02, 2013
Well my name is Nina I am 32 years old and have decided to get weight loss surgery. I have been over weight my whole life, as a child I was teased by the age of 16 I accepted my weight it was part of me. I did try to lose here and there but would always gain back more than I lost. When I first heard about weight loss surgery I was 20 maybe 21 and I was teaching computer basics, Microsoft word, and internet basics, and one of my students was talking about Lap Band surgery. To be honest I was totally against weight loss surgery, but as I got older I got bigger and this is the heaviest I have been. So about 2 years ago when I was living in NY I spoke to a doctor about it and was thinking about it. I moved to PR for 6 months and lost 30 pounds. When I moved back to the states the weight came back and then some. So January 29th I had a doctors appointment and I mentioned to her I was interested in finding out more, so she told me about the program in St Vincent's medical Center that I should go online and sign up for the seminar and that was step one. So February I went to the seminar a week and a half later I was sitting in the surgeons office (2/18/13) getting my pre op check list. So far I have gotten my ultrasound and half of my cardiac evaluation. I have to go back and have an MRI done cause they found something on my liver. This week I have 2 appointments 1 to see a new doctor and the rest of my cardiac evaluation. Next week I go for my MRI and my pulmonary clearance. In my Dr.'s appointment I am hopping he can send me to the nutritionist and therapist. I have been having trouble getting in touch with the ones listed on my pre ops list. I've been calling and leaving messages and nothing... I even went to St. V's to see the nutritionist and no one knew anything about her. All in all I have been doing my home work reading up on what to expect, watching peoples videos on YouTube and their journey its interesting to see how different ppl react to it. of course i know this journey is mine to take and i may or may not relate to some of these people but i think its preparing me more or less on what to expect and the different emotions I may or may not go thru. I am still debating if I want to make YouTube videos to document my journey. I am having mixed emotions about this I know i want to get it and i need to do this to be healthy, thats the only reason I am doing this cause I love being fluffy and I love my curves but i need to think about my health. I believe that my weight is preventing me from being able to have children, and if I do have a child I want to be a healthy parent so i can run around and keep up with my child/ren. I also have sleep apnea and have issues sleeping its almost 5:30 am and I am still up....lol Well I am off gonna try to get some rest. Thank you for taking your time to read my ramblings, if you do pls comment even if its just to say hi.
