"Dr. Birkitt came highly recommended by a personal friend and I must say he lived up to every positive expectation that I had. He seems to be a compassionate and intelligent man, the two highest qualities I look for in a medical provider. My surgery is scheduled for March 29, 2004 but he and the staff have been wonderful in walking me through all of this. The waiting list is way too long, but I guess that is part of being in high demand. Plan on a waiting of at least 18 months. Of course I still have a way to go, but my only recommendation for improvement is to prove a face/face support group for pre- and post- op patients. They currently depend on an on-line group. I am seriously thinking about starting a group with the office."
