4 weeks post op!!

9/3/2007- Four weeks ago today I had my surgery! I can't believe how fast time flies!! Everything is going well for me. I've lost 20 pounds so far. I was hoping for more my first month. I did have a stall that lasted about 2 weeks. Maybe I'm going to be a slow loser; oh well...
Everything is still going well for me; no complications, no problems.
As far as food goes, I can eat pretty much anything, I just eat small amounts and chew very well!! No dumping yet, but I don't think I've really had anything that would cause it. I think I'm finally learning what the "full" feeing is! It took a while! I saw Dr Fuzz, Dr Smith (psych) and Amber (nut) last week. They seemed pleased with my progress. I do need to work on getting all the fluid in and exercising more! Well, better go now and get those kids in the bed (and myself)!!

One Week Post-Op!

8/13/07- WOW! I can't believe it's been one week since my surgery. What an experience this has been so far! My surgery went great. Afterwards, though, the gas pains were terrible!!! I was in the hospital for 2 days. They started me on pureed food before releasing me. The only thing that I haven't tolerated well has been scrambled eggs. I will be on this pureed diet until my 3 wk check up. I couldn't resist the urge to weigh today: 235 lbs! I am down 13 lbs! That is wonderful! I'm having a hard time getting all the water in and I'm not quite up to my desired protein level. I will keep working on it. I know these things are so important.

Tomorrow's the big day!!

8/5/2007- I can't believe it's almost here! Tomorrow's the day. Everything has went so well up to this point. From the time I first mentioned this to my PCP to the day my insurance approved, everything has been smooth sailing. I hope my post-op journey will be the same. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. I'm so excited, not very nervous (yet). I'm looking forward to being on the looser's bench!!!
