I was a very skinny child but as I grew older I filled out but was able to stay active and healty.  In 2003 My family moved to England and I began to gain weight and have oter health issues.  I was repeatedly told that I needed to lose weight but no amoutn of diet and exercise helped.  After 3 long years and many tests I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism.  I was very relieved because I thougth I was going crazy and once I began medication all of my symptoms either disappeared or were very minimal.  Unfortunately by this time I had gained an additional 40 pounds and began having trouble in my knees and didn't have much energy.  I also discovered that even though I was on thyroid medication that my metabolism would not increase.  We returned to the States in January of 2007 and I decided that I wanted to have the bypass surgery.  I talked with a few people I knew that had the surgery and read a ton of information on the web.  I consulted with my doctor and he wanted me to try Meridia.  I tried it, even though it was $115 for a 30 day supply, but it made me sick to my stomach so my doctor referred me to Dr. Mortenson for the bypass surgery.  The whole process has been very smooth and I'm scheduled for surgery in about two weeks.  I'm veryexcited at the same time a little nerveous.  A friend of mine who had the surgery recommended this site and I as so grateful because I have read and seen some very inspirational stories here and hopefully one day I can inspire someone else.

Stay Blessed and keep  me in Prayer,

Michelle
