Having wls is a big decision to make.....You have made the right one. CONGRATS!!..It is the best thing I could have ever done for myself and I bet you'll feel the same way too. My family was pretty supportive...provided that I didnt tell anyone else I was having wls...I kept asking my mom why it needed to be a secret and she kept saying that it was just no ones business but mine and that she'd rather I keep it that way. Shes never been overweight so she has no real clue about how I felt. So I found people (like my hubby)that supported me no matter what I chose to do. Im all the happier for it.....go to a support group pre-op and find someone there if you have to. And of course, you always have us....we love you and we are proud of you for thinking of yourself for a change!!!! Gods Blessings!! Terri

Hi Pam, Boy it sounds like you have had a roller coaster ride. I understand what you mean about the waiting part. I have two questions for you. 1. What does DB mean. 2. Do you have a surgery date yet. I will keep you in my prayers and hopefully you won't have any more obsticles crop up to delay things any more. Take care and keep your chin up. Please email me.

PAM~~ I'm sorry that you have so much negativity around you about the surgery. My suggestion would me to not discuss it with them. And if they bring it up, tell them that you've made up your mind and you don't want to hear it. Tell them that you need their support, not their negativaty. You can always come to AMOS for support and encouragement.

Call you PCP and tell them you need the copies and by when. Give them a time you'll be in to pick up the copies. You may have to pay for them When you get them, make yourself a copy.If you have to go to an appeal for the insurance process, you'll need a set of copies probably. Always keep one set for yourself. Also, call your GYN and do the same. It can only help to have those records too. It will help document your weight. Keep a copy of all letters of referal also. This will also help if you have to change DRs down the road. Have you put together a diet history? Most insurance co's want one. List whether diet was Dr supervised, date of diet, how much you lost, and how much you gained back. Hope this helps. Leslie

Hello Pam - - glad to see you've come out of hiding and sent your first post, hehehehe! I'm pretty new to this site myself (4 weeks now). My hubby actually stumbled across it for me and it was one of the best finds yet, in reference to weight loss surgery and information! Hopefully you'll find it to be as helpful for you as it has been for me. Although, Im prolly to NEW to answer anything (cough) intelligently, if you ever have a question or a concern, feel free to ask, I'll sure do my best to help! Hugs and Aloha - Lei
