6 weeks=34 lbs. down!!

May 22, 2011

So happy, although I was hoping for 6 pounds down but at least it was a loss! And...I have not had a stall!! The least I have lost was 2 pounds but that was a weird weekend before I weighed in.

I tried to upload two photos but something was wrong with OH at the time, I'll try again later. My face has really gone down. Actually I am losing all over. Not like in times past when I would lose on the top and have these huge hips.

I am lovin' my sleeve. Best thing ever!! And I am jogging. I was going to wait until I was under 200 but just couldn't. I really feel like I am doing something when I am jogging. Now, I'm not jogging fast or very long. I am still using my podrunner interval training for a couch to 5k. I am on week 2, this is my second week of week 2. I am taking it slow, especially since it is getting really hot around here. When I take David to work, I work out there but if I am home with no car I try to do it on the paths. I did find a workout video, Bob Harper, the trainer for The Biggest Loser, can't wait to try it out. AND....I found a Michael Jackson dance workout Wii game. $50 so I didn't get it yet. Hoping for Christmas or when I get my job. I have my second interview tomorrow morning. Looks promising. We will hope it goes well. We are getting down to our last 2 pennies over here. Throw us a lifeline!

Our next support group meeting is June 13th. Hope to see more people there!!

What's shakin' in GA?

Down 4.4 pounds from last week!! Woo Hoo!!
I walked 4 miles twice last week, did the eliptical for 30 minutes at high intervals and mowed the lawn on another day for exercise. Whew!! Never in a million years would I think I could do that! I didn't feel well yesterday (Sunday) so I came home from church and took a nap. Didn't eat much either, felt bloated. Was really surprised I lost that much weight, but I'm glad! Now I need to up the exercises to keep it coming off.
I think I am going to try to do the exercises on www.crossfit.com. They list them daily. Of course today's is a deadlift of 175 pounds, don't think I will be doing that any time soon.
Still looking for the right workout video as well. Wish someone could direct me to what I am looking for.
I just realized, I've lost a little over 30 pounds since surgery, WOW!! Who would have thought, in 5 weeks no less.
I am so thankful for having VSG, wasn't sure it was going to happen but patience was the key.
Having a good friend go through it beforehand and seeing the good, the bad and the ugly helped also. And of course most of the people on OH. I love the inspirational stories and sometimes the "TMI" helped me also. Still trying to figure out the "pooing" situation. Other than that doing well.
Hoping to take my 4 mile walk later this morning, guess the Lord is letting me get a good amount off before He gives me a job. Still praying about that one and hope others are as well. Interview tomorrow as far as I know, haven't heard what time yet, they were supposed to contact me today to let me know.
And...tomorrow is my birthday! What a nice present, having lost 30 pounds!!

Walked 4 miles?!

May 13, 2011

I can't believe it!! I have been walking to the library which takes about 25 minutes then on the way home I go an even longer way. I have done this twice this week. I finally found my pedometer. 4 miles and 8500 steps before noon!! Woo Hoo!!
Knew it was a ways but not that far. I also picked up a Jillian Michaels Workout Video. Going to try it out before I buy something. Still want a good dance workout video but can't decide on them. Maybe I'll hit yard sales this weekend and see what I find.
I have an interview on Tuesday so I am studying, studying...Let's hope this goes somewhere. Hoping I didn't go back to school for nothing.
And...as of May 11th, my one month mark since surgery I am down 17.5 inches. YAY!!!

Monday, Monday...can't trust that day...

May 08, 2011

Only lost 2 pounds last week. But, I had a great Mother's Day, I know what I did wrong and will right it starting today. No complaining, no whining. I am using this sleeve to the fullest. I will get to where I am going!
I promised myself that I would not complain if I could only get the sleeve and that is my plan!!
I need to lay off the sweet tea (love it though), drink more water, get in more food calories and protein.
My hair is so thin right now bc I am not eating enough. May go get it cut. And I read that Nioxin has a non-drying root lifter, they sell them at Great Clips up the street so I plan on getting some. After seeing photos taken this weekend I know I need to do something. My fault entirely.
Tomorrow is our first support group meeting and I am so excited. Not sure how many are coming but have had a lot of people wanting more information about it. Whoever shows up will have a great time of fellowship with others of like tummies!!
Friday is my one month surgeon appt. Until then, happy sleeving!!

Couldn't wait 'til Monday!

May 07, 2011

What a weekend I have had!
My middle son finally graduated from college, yippee!! Mark that off my list!! I have had my three sons all weekend. 'what a wonderful gift!!!
We have played frisbee, catch, walked a boardwalk and climbed a 4 story tower. We have eaten, or should I say they have eaten. I haven't done so well, especially when they wanted "All you can eat buffet". I drank some tea while they ate but it didn't bother me at all. After this weekend I will be more than happy to get back on my regiment. I have tried to eat chick fil a strips, shrimp and kind of whatever was available. Note to self: Don't try hamburger or philly cheese steak meat for awhile!!
I have gotten no dairy in, not much water and am not tracking. I'm afraid of what the scale may say on Monday but I have had a heck of a time. I still cannot get much down in the way of food, thank goodness!! I could compete with my boys in the eating department and my husband too for that matter but not tonight, not this weekend, not anymore and I am as happy as I can be about it.
I do need to remember to always have my water bottle with me. Well, I have it, it sits in the car. I plan to fill it in the morning and take it everywhere!
I did walk the whole parking lot at the mall this morning before my son's graduation. I am doing Podrunner, not running but doing like a speedwalking thing until I get some clearance and get more weight off so I don't break something. Walked for over 30 minutes. I was proud of myself. Hopefully tomorrow evening when we get home I can get a good walk in. I see Dr. McGill on Thursday.
I want my own cooked chicken, etc. Looking forward to real food again.
Tomorrow is Mother's Day, I am truly blessed!

3 Weeks Post op...

May 02, 2011

...and doing great!! Down 24 pounds! Woo Hoo!!!

I walked for about an hour today. Walked to my Chiropractor, the walk back was awful though. Should have thought about that, it is uphill most of the way but I made it!!

Today is the first day i have officially been hungry. I'm sure it is from the walk. I think I finally was able to get my calories and protein in, exercise is the key!! I also was able to get a lot of water in.

Life is good. Go to my 1 month check up on May 13th.

Starting a weightloss support group on May 10th.

2 weeks post op

Apr 24, 2011

Really down nearly 20 pounds but I gained 5 right before surgery. 251 lbs. Haven't been that in a long time. Sure was  hoping to be in the 240's though.
Rough night last night. Didn't realize I hadn't pooped in over a week so I was up most of the night with pains and went several times. Thank goodness!!
Tried pureed yesterday, just a little that probably had something to do with it. Getting plain water and milk down great. Finally found a protein drink I could tolerate: EAS Chocolate Soy Protein Powder from Walmart under $10.
I have walked nearly everyday, trying to step it up a notch. Hit some softballs with my hubby yesterday just to get some type of exercise in. That was fun, maybe I'll play softball with his coed team sometime next year.
Still looking for a job, I feel this week will be the time for me to get something. It better, we are nearly out of our savings since our car needed $600 of work done this weekend. Please Lord!!
Going out today to find a facility to start my own Support Group. Hope I can find something. The hospital wanted me to have a facilitator, a doctor, nurse, dietitian, surgeon but I didn't want someone like that at every meeting. Lots to do!!
Getting ready for Caleb's college graduation, gotta figure out what to take to eat, guess my Ninja to puree things or maybe just do protein shakes to the whole, that would be easier.
Still excited about my sleeve!!
