My journey began back in July when I attended my general meeting. At that time I was attending with an open mind but not making a commitment. As I listened I thought this may be just the thing for me (Lap band). After my vacation I got my PCP to send the referral and I had my first appointment with Dr Trieu on 9/7/2007. At that appointment I found out that I weighed too much for lap band so I would have to have the RNY surgery.
I have been through 2 Nutritionist appointment, Psyc eval and I have gotten my insurance approval. (I did not expect to hear about my approval until January). My surgery will not be until March because of timing pressures with work.
I have now had my pre-op with Dr. Trieu and due to his schedule my surgery will not be until April. This was not a happy revelation. I am so ready to have this surgery. But after some thought April will work out better for me and it will give me more time to get my BMI below 60 before my surgery. My official pre-op weight is 388. and now I am waiting for my date to be official.
