"12/26/01: Am meeting with Dr. Geocaris at Surgical Associates in Green Bay. After doing further research, while the lap RNY has its advantages, I\'ve decided the risks are too great and I\'m going with the open RNY. Insurance papers will be filed after the first of the year, and I\'m hoping we can schedule the surgery in the beginning of Feb. I can\'t wait!!! 12/31/01: Met with Dr. Geocaris, and she may be doing the lap RNY by my surgery date and will let me konw. Dr. was much less friendly on this meeting than the first time a year ago, but I accept that people have good days and bad days. 1/24/02: Dr. Geocaris turned out to be a bust. I've wasted much time and energy with her office, and although much of the problem was due to BCBS not having updated information, I still found her staff to be difficult to work with, and completely unfriendly. 1/25/02: Spoke with BTC in Belvidere, IL today, and what a difference! These people really care. I'll be seeing Dr. Schlesinger on 2/8. 2/11/02: Met with Dr. Schlesinger on 2/8/02 and there is such a huge difference between he and Dr. Geocaris! I felt respected and cared about when I was with Dr. Schlesinger. He obviously knows his stuff, and sees his patients as real people with real needs."
