I am 31 years old and I just been diagnosed with Asmtha, Bronchitis, and sleep apnea. (2007). I recently went to see my specialist and he said he is recomending me for Gastric Bypass. I have always struggle with my weight in my adult like and several years ago considered the surgery but actually didn't have a way to pay for it. It seems strange that years later it would be offered to me because of sleep apnea.
Well although I have suffered from obesity, I am still very active, I dance, swim, hike, lift weights and othe various sports and exercise events. I also am currently a moticational speaker, big brother mentor for aggressive lesbians and I do some modeling. The weight has not held me down and I refuse to let it. But I can tell that I am more tired and cant perform these events like before. So I am all for the surgery.
I am going to my consult on April 17, 2008 and my team of doctors has already began to get together my paperwork and letters for the insurance company. I have Horizon BCBS, not to mention I am very nervous aboutu this insurance because I work for a non profit agency and to be honest they are cheap, so I am wondering will they pay for this. Never the less Next week Thursday I will know if this doctor will approve me, (wink he works directly with my pulmonologist) so I am not to worried Oh forgot to mention I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol as well. So as you can see I am a prime candidate for this surgery.
