Hey Rachael! Well ... from one cajun "Rachel (el)" to another ... CONGRATS!! You know us Louisiana women have it tough with all this great cajun food! But I promise you things will be great! I'm out from my surgery just over a year and down to that "125 pound" mark you are shooting for! And it seems like we may have even started from the same point as well. You will do fine and in the weeks to come ... remember 4 things. #1 - BREATHE! #2 - It didn't take weeks to put on all the weight ... so don't expect it to ALL come off quickly either. #3 - Take you measurements!! It's a great boost when you begin to plateau weight wise. You won't see the scale move, but the inches melt away! #4 - Praise God every day for your second chance at life. He will hold you through the worst of times and high five ya on your goals no matter how small. I wish you the best of luck .... God bless and enjoy LIFE!

Hello Rachel, Congratulations on your surgery. I know you're excited about starting your new life. I just know you'll do well. I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery and great success in reaching your goal. I have just signed up here at the site and I am hoping to have RNY surgery in the next few months, not exactly sure where as of yet but I'm signed up for a seminar in New Orleans next week and a consultation at BTC in Dallas the week after that. I also wanted to let you know that I'm here in Louisiana - about an hour away from New Orleans so maybe someday we can get together and start a support group. God bless you, Beth

Hello everyone, As Rachel's "ANGEL," I'm pleased to give my very first update. As you all should know, Rachel had her surgery on yesterday morning. According to the surgery team, it went well. I spoke with her on yesterday evening and she was doing OK. Her exact words were, "I did it...it's done." She was very sleepy at the time, but wanted everyone to know that she's feeling OK. Rachel will be happy to see or hear from you today as she recovers at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. You can reach her at 985-867-3800 Room 207. I know that Rachel appreciates all of your prayers and concerns and I ask that each of you continue to lift Rachel up as she goes through this recovery period. I will be updating you periodically as information becomes available. Sincerely, Nicole
